The only salsa I buy. Two cases in 6 weeks.
Eat the ‘sauce’ like it’s salsa. Delicious. And El Pinto green chili is the best, and possibly the cheapest GC out there. Visit their restaurant on 4th st in Albuquerque. Their GC goes on all my pizzas and in my clam chowder now that I’m in the PNW. If something is missing from your food, it’s El Pinto GC.

Red or Green - it is delicious
Highly recommend this brand for New Mexico red or green chile. We love their sauces and salsas and regularly have them shipped to us. The medium is just right - very flavorful and spicy.

Salsa Done Right
I've bought other salsa's of theirs so I was more than happy to get a case at such a good sale price. This was the first time I had this particular salsa, but as usual it's just really good. Hot, but not so overwhelming that you have to tone it down with tomato sauce or such before using. Good for dipping, cooking, and just laying on sandwich's or Mexican dishes

It is healthy and a good ingredient in other things.
Think of it as a healthy blend of veggies in a jar. You can put it on top of almost anything, from obvious choices like tacos and quesadillas to pizza or burgers. It does do much better if you follow the instructions to heat it up though. As to health it is very low calorie (10 per 2 tbps which is a bit of a small serving size), but does have some salt (115 mg or 5% and again the serving size is probably half of a real serving as it is fairly chunky). Ingredients are pretty simple: Tomatoes (peeled tomatoes with Juice, calcium chloride, citric acid), roasted green chiles, caramelized onions (onions, soybean oil), sea salt, garlic. My one bit of warning is that it really isn't what I'd consider medium hot. Or honestly hot at all. I'm not a spice head but if you expect this to even be up to the levels of medium hot salsa you won't be finding it.

Brings me back to the Southwest
I used to live in New Mexico and have since moved back to the northeast and I sure did miss the green chile. Found this on amazon and had to buy it. El Pinto is a restaurant in Albuquerque and this is their own green chile sauce. I like to put it on just about anything from cheeseburgers to pizza. You can also make good stews with it. Convenient and inexpensive way for someone out of town to get a taste of the southwest.

This is not a green chile sauce!
This is not a green chile sauce. It is a tomato based salsa with green chile in it. The first ingredient is tomatoes. I wish I’d read the ingredients before buying but having spent twenty years in Albuquerque and eating plenty of times at El Pinto, I assumed I’d get what I thought I ordered. Don’t get me wrong, if you’re planning on chips and salsa, this is great. But if you’re planning on making green chile enchiladas like I was, this is a waste of money. Their red chile sauce is great, and the first ingredient is red chile, as it should be. You’re better off getting the green from 505 Southwestern or similar vendors but check the ingredients first! Lesson learned.

... the Rio Grande restaurant in the Albuquerque airport and loved it! Had to try to duplicate it
Had green chile stew at the Rio Grande restaurant in the Albuquerque airport and loved it! Had to try to duplicate it. I had to order the El Pinto hot sauce through Amazon.com because local stores do not have it. (St. Louis area) Used the stew recipe on the El Pinto website, but substitued their hot sauce for the medium sauce. Also topped the stew with shredded cheese and fresh cilantro. This was delicious! Maybe not quite as good as the airport green chile chicken stew, but a close second! Highly recommend this sauce.

Love this - sadly got hot instead of medium
Love the medium sauce, it’s not actually that hot (to me). But sadly received the hot which is HOT, truly too hot to enjoy. So, stuck with 6 bottles I can’t enjoy 😢
