First School Dictionary: Illustrated dictionary for ages 5+ (Collins First Dictionaries)

Bought this after a conversation with my 5 year old Granddaughter who told me ‘burst’ was not a word. I told her it was in the dictionary and explained what a dictionary was. She asked if they had pictures?This prompted me to find one as a stocking filler and I chose this one. It’s a lovely book and I see lots of fun and learning ahead.Happy to see the word ‘burst’ is included 😉

Great dictionary for a young child to start learning how a dictionary works, With some pictures and the most pleasing, is they give a sentence or phrase showing how the word can be used. Bought for my 6 yr old granddaughter and she is already finding it useful. Highly recommend.

Kids really like them and helps them with words from our daft language that they struggle with. A lot of common words which is great to have all in one place.

A Christmas present for my Grand-daughter, intelligent is not the word for her, she does jigsaw puzzles, internet games, the one thing she hasn't got, is a Dictionary.

I thought this would help me with my 6 year old who is in the habit of asking what things mean. But it's very limited and doesn't have some of the words my daughter has asked about.
