Excellent
Used this to install a carpet in my new house.Having not ever installed or fitted a carpet and fed up of being told its hard to do i bought my own kicker to try a room.A whole house later in a weekend (2 bedrooms, living room and hallways) and im very happy. This kicker was invaluable and felt very solid and well built. Would last another few houses but for now os going to live in my shed.

Prefect for a DIY guy or gal.
Having moved into a new home the decorating began.I came to needing to paint the skirting boards in various rooms this can be a nightmare when trying to not get paint on the carpet. As the carpets are brand-new didn't really want to get paint on them so I decided it best to remove before starting to gloss the skirting boards. It would've been nice if the last owner painted before paying for a brand-new carpets to be fitted.Anyhow I thought if I was going to remove them then I need to remove and carefully so not to damage them to be able to put them back to look as if they've never be lifted.I looked at various High Street DIY stores and only found very small poor quality versions of the above. The first thing I noticed was how big this was compared to the ones I've seen in shops. It's easily adjustable for tall or short people. You can wind the spikes in and out on the head for different pile carpets. It definitely does make it easier removing and laying carpet. I first tried relaying the carpet without using the tool, stood back and have a look to see if I could of done without the tool. The finish was acceptable and I probably could've left it, then I finished off stretching with the tool. What a difference. Similarly to when you cut your own hair or go to the barbers/hairdressers, it seems to pull in just the right places, really making the carpet taught.Obviously I can't compare this to a professionals workmate version but for a simple DIYer it does more than I need and I'm very very happy with it.I'm sure my friends and family will be asking me to bring it round to the house is to tighten their ageing carpet.

Good for diy, or occasional tradesman carpet refitting jobs
Purchased as a warehouse returned item, so was bought at a discount. Would say that it is heavily made which is good, and the teeth and spikes seem good. It’s not a Roberts, but it is a good tool for diy, or maybe a tradesman for when a carpet has been lifted and needs putting back. A full time fitter would want and need a Roberts at 2x to 3x the price
