A lovely book. I am Catholic, but wanted a book of piano hymns that are well known. I love that each hymn has the story behind it clearly on the opposite page. This was a used book (you could not tell) and I wrote to the family of the gentleman that had owned it, thanking them. I am taking it to the local print shop to have a comb binding put on so that it will lay flat at my piano.

I absolutely love this book. I love the stories behind each hymn. The way the book is formatted and the type of paper the stories are printed on somehow take you back to the time when so many of these hymns were written.

Beautiful, thicker paper with a “scalloped” type edge. I enjoy reading the history of the hymn. It delights me to know the information of the person who wrote it. I read the history and then find the song on my Spotify then sing along! Occasionally I post a picture of the song, like above, include the appropriate music and post it to my instagram story. This is how I came to know of this book; someone else did this. What a blessing! It’s a good book that I read a few times a week. Rich with the knowledge of the old hymns!

I enjoyed reading the background of many of my best loved hymns! I knew a few but many I did not. There were also hymns I was not familiar with but if you love church music, this is a definite good read!
