Sprays nicely
I used this to bind dye to a bass I'm finishing. Seems to work ok but I should have put the third coat on a little bit heavier as my grain filler caused some bleed.

Works great!!
This nitrocellulose lacquer-based sanding sealer works really well. It dries quickly, builds up fast, and sands quickly in between coats. It is crystal-clear under clear coats. My only complaint (minor) is you have to keep coats VERY THIN on open-grained woods or it will bubble over the grain without filling it in. This is easy to prevent by just taking your time and allowing for plenty of THIN coats; then it works like a charm. A quality finishing product that works well.

This is what you want
Comes out thicker and faster than similar from major instrument finish brand from Ohio. So spend time on technique before flooding your first piece. But at half the price and fine performance (once you get used to faster heavier spray pattern). I’m a big Mohawk fan now.

As good as the expensive brands
Never heard of Mohawk Finishing Products before. Purchased this thinking it could not be much worse than the expensive lacquer sanding sealers and was happy to learn it is every bit as good as any "top shelf" brand I have used, and I have used a lot of lacquer sanding sealer.

What the heck is "Sheerness" and "Thickness"??????
Mohawk makes (or procures?) great finishing products. It's a shame they can't improve their spray nozzles.I've had the nozzle "spit" on several instruments in the final stages of lacquer jobs, causing me to have to do hours, & sometimes days, more sanding and re- lacquering several almost-finished guitars. They also have pretty crude spray mists. This became most evident when I ran out of Mohawk Clearcoat on a customer's guitar. When I switched to another brand, the spray was ever so much better!!! However, the paint itself is wonderful. If only the other brands spray nozzles fit on the Mohawk cans, I'd be happier than a pig in a poop pile!!!!!!!
