Sturdy, easy assembly, easy access to finished compost, heavier lid that stands up on it's own when open.
I have only had this composter for a short time...not long enough to produce a batch of compost but, I have no doubt it will work. It was very easy to assemble and the area to access the finished compost seems very spacious for a shovel. I thought it was a little pricey but, after I received it I could see the reason for the additional expense when I compared it to my previous 5 year old plastic compost bin...which I am still using. The old bin was more difficult to assemble and came apart at the corners in the spring after the thaw until I drilled 4 sets of holes on each corner and used wire ties to keep the corners together. That old bin has given us quite a bit of compost and we have not put any coffee grounds, vegetable or fruit scraps into the landfill since we have had it. This new bin is made of much thicker material and the corners are held together with washers, nuts and screws. I suppose we will be able to see how well it works after our next Illinois winter.

Surprisingly sturdy, a little shy of critical mass
I will start with the negative: it's really hard to put together. The pieces all have holes pre-drilled for the hardware, and it surely seems that they do not line up correctly. Once you get all the screws in, you'll have to go back and snug them all up a second time. But there's a reason for this, I discovered after setting it up. Despite being made of a fairly lightweight plastic, it stands up very straight and doesn't sag or bend at all. It has to be perfectly square or the lid, especially, wouldn't work right, but it sure does. It opens with only slight effort, stays open (unless there's a stiff contrary breeze), and snaps down snugly shut.I wish they made one that was somewhat larger. For compost to happen, there must be a critical mass, and this 1/3 yard box doesn't get there. Not a problem for me, I do vermiculture in addition to bacterial composting. If not for that, I would want a much bigger composter.

I have two, eventually will have 4
I have two of these and am really pleased with them. Easy to assemble. Really. Don't believe the naysayers. I am planning on someday having four of these. I like to top dress 6 8ft by 3-4 ft raised beds and multiple perennial landscaping spots annually. So I can't get enough compost. 4 would help me digest even more kitchen and garden waste. They are the right size and easy enough access thru top to turn easily. Also they keep out critters - note I do put 1/8 in. Hardware cloth for bottoms. My first one I used the "rodent screen" accessory but have found small square hardware cloth works as well and at lower cost. Hardware cloth will however require staking whereas the rodent screen is heavy and won't need that. But hey, your choice.

my second purchase
We sold our house in 2012 and moved across town. We left our old Gardener's Supply Composter behind since the buyers wanted it. This is very similar, except that the new version has a hinged lid which makes it much more convenient. I had another composter that I had purchase through my town that only lasted a few years. This style seems to be much more durable. My husband and son kept asking when we would be getting a new one since they were well trained in how to compost household scraps. This save you money as you use fewer garbage bags, gives you free, rich, compost for your garden. I love it and highly recommend it!

You might have to drill your own holes for screws.
The plastic warped while deliver, or the pieces were warped from the beginning. I had to drill holes myself in order to use the screws. Other than that, the bin is working how it should be, and it is not horrible looking.

Poor design and poorly built.
The screw holes were not placed properly so that you couldn't turn the wing nuts so we had to drill new holes plus there are openings large enough for a small rat and mice to get into the compost and this is suppose to be rodent proof! We are going to get something from the hardware store that is galvanized to plug them up. Very poor design. We have an older model that was built 10x better than this one.

Very satisfied
Very satisfied. Relatively easy to assemble. The top catches rain water effectively. Suitable for a larger yard with lots of plant matter. Begins delivering compost quickly if kept moist and in a shady spot.

A huge disappointment
Assembly was next to impossible. Plastic panels were warped and predrilled holes did not align. Supplier should be ashamed. Don't!
