Currently doing a rig build for the sony FX3. This base plate fits great. It's sturdy and feels durable. The packaging was good too. I recommend this to anyone wanting to build a rig no matter your budget.

Hurry, hurry, hurry. Step right up and get your knock off right here. Just about everything coming out of China has two, three, four or more versions, rip offs, knock offs, or whatever you want to call em... and this item is no different. Honestly, half the time I think most of the same stuff is produced in the same plant and at the end of the conveyor belt they slap a different label on it, put it in a different box, and it goes to several different sellers. Having said all that, you can find this same item sold by Small Rig and a few other sellers. From what I can tell, it's almost the exact same item, with a few slight differences. For one, this plate is up to $5 (or more) less than the others out there. Besides price, another reason I choose this one was for some reason there are 3 screw holes on the back, whereas some have had one or two. Other than that, they appear exactly alike. Weird, but whatever. Some people have mentioned rough edges on products like these and talk about scratching their rails or being rough to slide on the rails. I've had no issues with this plate and it seems to be machined pretty well. The rails lock down nice and tight on this and it has the standard ratcheting levers. The only slight issue I have with this plate is that due to the thickness of the aluminum on the top, the screw used to mount you camera doesn't protrude as much as I'd like. I'd say with most of my tripod plates and whatnot, that the screw probably has at least a 1/4 inch clearance, whereas this one does not. I've been able to mount my cameras on this without and issue so far, but for peace of mind will probably just buy a longer mounting screw from somewhere. A solid product that's not too complicated, so it should provide years of service. Oh, and it doesn't have their name painted on it anywhere. I have several Small Rig items and they love to print their name on everything. Four stars for the whole screw "issue".
