Debated and re-debated constantly. Loved the idea of Prester John. This is an interesting story of racism and prejudiced opinions with the acceptance of different peoples as long as they are a conquoring power. Only the strong survive and the travels have lasted, although their authenticity is constantly questioned

It wasn't what I expected. The writing style was poor. I would not recommend it

Marco Polo, the name conjers up memories of one's childhood, even now, ( in my 2nd childhood ) i found this one fascinating.The Venician travellers escapades in the East through Persia , India, Mongolia and of course China are the stuff of legend.His meeting and subsiquent friendship with the Grand Khan, Khubla, and missions Polo undertook for him are all documented. The Dominions of the Mongol Ruler are also quite evident and breathtaking, given it was 13th century.There are accounts of the ways of life, trade, and foodstuffs of the variuos peoples of the East, as well as tales of silks, gold, women, possesions of all kinds.Several battles are also detailed.A classic tale at a very attractive price.
