How to Be a Children’s Book Illustrator: A Guide to Visual Storytelling

The book content and art is amazing. I am learning a lot from it. The bad thing is it arrived with no bubble wrap or any wrapping at all. It came just with the amazon plastic. Edges of the jacket are torn and damaged. The sides are dirty with black smudges.

To aspiring illustrators, writers of children's lit, and lovers of art and storytelling; this book is a treasure trove.There is so much beautiful artwork in here; but also great discussions of practical advice on the behind the scenes of making a children's book. Artists have the tendency to dream big, but get lost in putting those dreams to work (I am not accusing anyone willy-nilly; I myself am an artist and in this boat) So the cute art paired with honest advice and conversation on how to finish a project is a wonderful thing. For writers, I believe this is practical for you too. It gives good writing advice too, and may even open the doors on how your illustrators work and think.There are adorable example stories in this book too, which are charming and entertaining. Teaching accompanied by example is always the best thing. This book is an adorable inspiration and a fantastic tool. Highly recommend it for certain.
