Plug and play with my Windows 10 laptops
The wife and I have Fitbits step counters that fit around our wrists. Mine is the fitbit blaze and hers is the fitbit HR. These fitbits use bluetooth to upload our stats to the fitbit website so we can keep track of our fitness goals and compare each other's performance with our married daughter who lives 100 miles away and also has a fitbit. We have used our smartphones for their bluetooth connectivity to allow our fitbits to send the data to our profiles on the fitbit website. We each have our own laptops but they do not have Bluetooth capability. I wanted to find some way to add Bluetooth to our laptops so our fitbits could be controlled via the fitbit app on our laptops and also use our laptops to upload our stats to the fitbit website. I picked this Bluetooth adapter because the price was very good and it just plugs into a USB port on my computer. I really didn't know what to expect as I have never used one of these things before. So, here is the layout in our household. The wife and I each have an ASUS laptop running Windows 10 Home. I upgraded these laptops from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and had no problems. I like Windows 10 but I have it set up to look and feel like the old Windows 7 interface. I hate the Modern interface of Windows 8 and 10 right out of the box. Anyway, my laptops have Intel processors and run Windows 10 without issues. What these laptops do not have is any kind of Bluetooth capabilities, so I was not sure what to expect when I tried to use this Dongle adapter. When I plugged this dongle into a USB port, it took about 2 seconds and I saw the Bluetooth symbol appear in the lower right side of my Windows 10 task bar. I didn't even have to use the CD that comes with the device. It was plug and play with my Windows 10 laptops. Then all you have to do is to go to your Windows 10 search bar in the lower left of your screen, type "Bluetooth" and Windows pops up the Bluetooth page and starts looking for Bluetooth devices in the area. The adapter found each of our fitbits and asked if we wanted to pair them up with the computer. Voila - all done. So, easy. When I paired my fitbit with my wife's computer, I was sitting right in front of it. But she was sitting at the kitchen table, about 15 feet from the computer. The device saw her fitbit that far away and paired it up just like mine. So, I can say that this dongle has at least a 15-foot range. When I first bought this device, I decided to just get one and transfer it back and forth between our laptops, but that is kind of a hassle. This is inexpensive enough that I will probably just buy another one so we can have dedicated devices for each laptop. Before I plugged this thing in, our computers didn't know what Bluetooth was. Typing "Bluetooth" in the search bar would take us to the "turn wi-fi on" page. Once you plug it into an available USB port, your non-Bluetooth computer will become a Bluetooth computer instantly if you are running Windows 10. Then download the fitbit app for Windows from the fitbit website and you can control your fitbit settings and allow your fitbit to upload its data directly to the fitbit website. For the price, this is a great product. If you are running Windows 7 or earlier, you might have to get a driver off the CD that comes with the device. But if you are a Windows 10 user, it will be a plug it in and use it right away experience. I have no other Bluetooth devices that I use, so I can't say how it works with headphones or other devices. But it works great with fitbit devices.Update: I have an Android smartphone, a Motorola droid Turbo. I tried pairing it up with my laptop via the Bluetooth connection from this device and that also worked great. After pairing it up, I tried passing a photo from my phone to my computer via this Bluetooth connection and that also worked. I just ordered another one for another laptop I have in the house so I don't have to keep swapping between computers. All my computers are on Windows 10.

Good for the price. Works great even without installation disc
So far so good. I don't know what others are talking about but I didn't even need to install the CD. I just plugged it in, windows 10 recognized it and I linked it to my wireless xbox controller with no problems. The reason I needed this is because my 600$ Asrock Extreme9 mobo which has everything doesn't have bluetooth. This adapter solved my gaming issues with my xbox remote because the cord I was using always would come undone. Now I have ZERO ISSUES.There is no spyware or hacking here. It can't be done with a bluetooth dongle unless the program you install has some kind of spyware. If not the person would need to be literally next to the dongle to try to hack into your system. I ran a check on the disk, even tho I didn't use it, and there was NO SPYWARE.For the price and ease of installation I give 5 stars. If anything changes il update

Adapter Install with Garuda Linux Easy Peasey (Arch based)
I attempted the installation of the DAYKIT adapter in Linux Mint 20.04 with Kernel 5,4,0-100-generic and it would not pair my Plantronic headset. It appeared to be there but I had errors in the system report for the adapter driver. I did take this same adapter to another client with Garuda Linux Dragonized with the 5.16.11-zen1-2-zen Kernel and after the restart it was good to go. Maybe if I had it installed prior to installing Linux Mint it would have been ok but it just was more trouble than the other vendor BT adapter that I also picked up. I cannot say how it would work with Windows as I didn't bother with W10. I am just happy it does work with an Arch based Linux distribution. That is good. I have not exercised it enough for multiple devices so I can't provide feedback on that right now.

Installed just fine and works well.
Picked this dongle since my older Windows 7 laptop didn't come with Bluetooth. All I wanted to do was use my BT headphones so I could watch movies in bed without disturbing my partner. It took a little fiddling to get it to install since Windows tries to install via auto discover first. I had to cancel that action and use the setup & drivers on the little disc that came with it. It installed with very little fuss and on reboot I had Bluetooth, Yay! Since this dongle was the last thing installed, its drivers are the last to load, so you have to wait a little before it wakes up to recognize the headphones. I don't turn them on till I see the drivers load in the system tray. Once its up an running, it detects all the BT devices near me, headphones, cell phones, the printer and the spouse's mini iPad. I have noticed that occasionally the signal drops out and I haven't tested the range yet, but it works well for my purposes. Its hard to beat it at $7.99.

So far so good
May 5, 2017 - PurchasedMay 9, 2017 - DeliveredMay 9, 2017 - Plugged in, Windows 10 automatically did everything no prob. Biggest problem I had was getting my bluetooth headphones into pairing mode (had to look that one up). I have it attached to a USB extension cable, resting on my desk next to the keyboard. Sounds good, no cutting out or anything. I can move around the room, walk around a pillar without it cutting out. I even went into another room, so that a wall is in between me and the adapter(about 15 feet away, through the wall), and I didn't have any problems with the bluetooth cutting out.I imagine people's results will be affected by their choice of bluetooth device as well. I've had a good experience so far with my bluetooth device, so this adapter doesn't ruin anything. But just be cautious of people saying that an adapter is the problem, when it can also be their device causing the bad connection. I can EASILY walk more than 5 feet away, while others have problems at 2-3 feet. It's probably your device, not the adapter.I will update this with any additional findings as they come along.
