Don't spend the money.... leaks!
I ignored the most recent feedback on this product thinking that a hose can't possibly leak (at least not a new one with a washer in place) and I didn't grasp what the writer was saying about the cut-off/ball valve being in the way. The reviewer from 5/28/16 was correct on both points. Got this hose today, screwed it to the bib, had the ball valve closed, turned on the spigot and water sprayed out all around the end of the brass connection (where it attaches to the spigot). Assuming I didn't get it tight enough (being a new washer, it seats in a little as you tighten), I cranked some more. The leaking lessened a little, but not much. I unscrewed it, looked at the washer for a cut or tear or some debris. All good. screwed it on again... water sprayed everywhere again. Tried it at other spigots. Same thing on all. Put an additional washer in the end (which took up most of the thread space), tried it again and it leaked way less, but still leaked a small constant stream (not drip). For something as basic as a hose, this is ridiculous. Used hoses for almost 50 years and never had this issue unless the washer fell out or wore out. AND the ball valve is too close to the end of the fitting on other end. If you attach a sprayer of any type, the handle on the ball valve won't turn far enough to open/close. It hits the end of the sprayer you attached and stops. Do not waste your money. Oh, and I have plenty of water pressure but this hose never got past 35-38 feet (likely because if was losing water/pressure at the malfunctioning spigot connection). Going back in box and back to Amazon.

Terrible Braided Exterior Cover
I've bought several expandable hoses over the years. Tired of having them explode on me, I decided to try this one, as it was touted as being pretty tough. I used it on my deck which is pretty smooth and splinter free. No matter, that braided fabric cover got caught and snagged on every little thing. After babying that hose, it still blew up after 2 months of light use. Don't waste your money.

Buy the good stuff a a mortar and brick store
Doesn't stretch out to 50 feet! If you filled with water and hand hold it is ok, but you can't use it with a sprinkler as it shrinks back like a rubber band. The interior dimension is so small it does not produce a strong spray.

This one's a winner!!
This is the second one of these I have had, but the first one lasted more than a year, which is WAY more than any of the other brands. Last year alone I think I bought 4 until I got this one in another color. I cannot use a regular hose due to age and illness - they're just too heavy. But while this type of hose seemed ideal, they all exploded within weeks or days. When I got this one, I knew it was different. This one is a continuous fabric tube with the hose part inside. The other brands, no matter how expensive, are only a hose wrapped round and round with a strip of fabric! The brass connectors are sturdy and don't leak and there is a kind of guard over about 4 inches of the hose below the coupling where it attaches to the faucet, which keeps it secure. It doesn't retract as small as the others, but this was not a priority. It NEVER kinks, stopping the water. Ever - even though it would get curls in it, the water flow was never cut off. I highly recommend it, although I do not ever turn it on as recommended, with the water flow valve OFF, as this seemed the best way to make these hoses explode with the other ones I had. I highly recommend this and only this brand of retractable hoses.MAY 2018 Sadly this hose did not make it! I took it in for the winter, stored it carefully in a box and had high hopes last week when I took is down to the garden. Unfortunately, the water control lever was on OFF - and in spite of the fact that the directions for ALL these hoses tell you to start it up with that valve turned off DON'T DO IT! Both times I have done it (this time by mistake) they have exploded and I DO mean EXPLODED! This time the entire sprayer and a piece holding it all to the hose shot off like a rocket. If someone had been in the way who knows what could have happened. As it is I got soaked! And although the hose itself is undamaged there is now no way to attach the nozzle. Aaaaaarrrrrggggghhhh! I have spent hundreds of dollars on these things since they came out and probably will continue to buy them since I can't even push a regular hose with my foot never mind lift it. I just wish they would get better. I couldn't replace this one, so went for another brand so we'll see. But BEWARE of turning on ANY of them with the water turned OFF at the sprayer end!

Platinum 50' Expanding Hose
A good quality but expensive hose. I ordered the 50 foot length. When filled and expanded the hose is only 45 feet long. I wanted and need the 50 foot length. I feel cheated by your advertising.

Delivers a very low volume of water - Small diameter
Says 3/4 in the description but it's more like 1/4" or maybe 3/8".You don't get any good volume of water out of it at all given the hose's small tube inside.

Major design flaw
The hose has a major design flaw. The ball valve at the end cannot be fully opened when a nozzle or spinkler is attached. This results in a weak flow. Also when the water flow is set at full or near full the hose begins retracting! The cheapo version that costs about $20 is far superior in both respects.

Not impressed. It snapped the inner core leaving the outer mesh only. Lasted about a month and a half.
