The Hyper Havoc exceeds my needs.
I love my Hyper Havoc, which I purchased from a local big box discount store, but I am making changes to it as follows.First, it is a mountain bike, but I love the layout of the bike - though I ride it on the road. The mountain bike tires wear out pretty fast on pavement and concrete, so I came to Amazon.com and researched commuter tires. I found the Kenda Kwest tires in 26 x 1.5, and they fit the rims perfectly. (I edited this, because I originally listed the Kenda Tires as 16 x 1.5 - which would not fit at all!!!).The bike is faster, easier to accelerate from a stop, and more fun to ride with these new tires.Other changes that I am making are the rims. I just ordered a front and rear Sta-Tru 26 x 1.5 wheels with stainless steel spokes because I have broken two spokes on the original rear wheel.I picked up a Shimano freewheel 7 speed cluster (the gears on the rear wheel) because I did not want to get into moving the gears over. I also picked up a special tool (Parker FR1) so that I can mount the gears to the new wheel. The Sta Tru wheels are not too expensive (and we could spend a lot for wheels), but the reviews are solid, and I hope for good wheels that do not pop spokes! I'll write up the wheels on that page later - once I get some miles on them.Overall, the stock Hyper Havoc was a perfect bike for me to get into riding a moving bike (instead of my stationary bike in my office). I only meant to ride about ten miles per day, but I have been averaging 26 or more miles, almost every day since I got this bike. Other than some minor tweaks, and two broken spokes, I am very happy with the bike.
