I wish I had read the previous review from a year earlier.. item title says Theis is a Black colored, Locking mount. However what you get is a grey non-locking mount (mount still locks, just doesn't release with the new style push button as the 'L' model should). In the description of the item below, it states it is grey and the old style non-locking version by the model 241 (not 241L) and coordinated as grey. However, most people who buy this will probably just search the model number and click on purchase without reading much if the title states you get a black newer one. Hopefully amazon changes the title.

I have used Scotty products for years on a succession of boats, big small and in-between, including these brackets. Of course every time a new craft replaces an old, it's again time to add all those devices and gadgets that have worked so well in the past. Many of those come from Scotty and I never hesitate to use their products again and again. Scotty makes good stuff and I highly recommend it all!

I installed these on my aluminum boat to give me more choices as to where to put my fishing rod. They are sturdy and it took me only a few minutes to bolt them on using self-screw ins.

Warning incorrect description. These are ordinary 241 mounts NOT the 241L listed in the description. The 241L doesn't need to be rotated to release the mounting post instead it has a push button.
