So do i have to wait for the adhesive to wear off and then use this? If so how long does the adhesive last?

No u don’t wait for adhesive to wear off- you spray this onto adhesive and hold whatever item has adhesive on it in contact with this chemical in the spray for up to a few minutes- so it might be best to even spray a cotton ball or cotton round then press that to hold onto the adhesive. After maintaining contacts for a few minutes it has slowly broken down the adhesive enough to pull it off in stretchy pieces or to separate whatever items were glued together

Will this harm santa beards?

No it should not, but the scent is strong and unbearable at times but it does help to remove without as much discomfort...
