Great for the price
Works as advertised. Great alternative to buying the correct sas cables. Transferred over 100 gigs no problem. Went from an external usb drive to a 12gbs sas drive. Usb drive transfer rate is pegged, sas barely sweating.

Good little SATA to SAS pinout connectors
I needed to add some SAS drives to a local machine used for a NAS. These adapters allowed me to use SATA power and the SAS data connectors to connect to the drives. They did the job at a fair price, and I'd buy again if I needed more.

Waste of money
These do not work. Basically a waste of money. Also some were asking if these will convert and allow you to connect an enterprise HDD the answer is no they will not

Buy only if you understand SATA and SAS basic connection concepts.
It looks lie a large number of reviewers were disappointed because they did not read the description and did not understand the protocols and connection concepts behind SAS and SATA. This is used for SAS compatible cards and adapters. As an example, an LSI SAS card with SATA connectors on an attached SATA harness, you can connect this converter between the SATA end of the harness connector and the SAS drive. However, if all your drivers are SAS, then just get the splitter harness that has all SAS connectors, so there is one less connection and less points of failure. It works perfect for those purposes. Not the most sturdy construction, but mechanically and electronically it fits. Again, use it for the proper purpose!

Easy setup
Supply a 5v to Satadom, connect sata com port to this (male to male sata connector). Work like a champ now i have a Satadom for backup.

Works but only with a controller
This did work but I had to get a controller as well for them to start working. Also they protrude out of the drive bay because of this connector is so long. And in some cases I had issues closing the pc cover. If they had cable between the connectors, it would be easy to move it around.

Does NOT allow SAS drives to be used with a USB SATA adapter.
I purchased this adapter in order to try to connect some SAS drives I have to my USB SATA adapter.Everything plugs in just fine, but in no case did the SAS drive spin up, using two SATA adapters, eight SAS drives, and USB 2.1, 3.0, and 3.1 ports, either with or without an external power adapter.I purchased this adapter as an experiment, so I consider it money well spent, even though it does not allow me to use the SAS drives.
