Wonderful strop at a very good price.
Some reviews say it is too small and a few others say the strop just isn't of high quality. I could not disagree more. Mine is absolutely what I needed, since my old one finally did wear out.If you only sharpen large kitchen knives, then a larger strop would be ideal, but I have used it on small pocket knives up to large knives and cleavers and have achieved great results. For the price and quality, I would give it six stars if I could.

Awesome value and razor sharp results
This was my first strop, so I went very basic. It is really nice quality and value for the money. It is easy to use, thought the compound is a little dry - so you have to follow the instructions. With very little effort, I was able to get all my blades hair popping, razor sharp. I am going to also get the wooden backed one, and keep this as a travel/bag unit. Really really happy and highly recommend.

Good, good stuff.
Someone from the company wrote me a hand written letter on that yellow legal paper asking for me to leave a review, and also he gave me a contact if I had any issues.I'm glad he did, because I totally forgot to leave a review. I used this product to repair a blade that I had SERIOUSLY abused. I used it to cut through 1/8" cardboard tube (imagine wrapping paper tube but like 10x thicker) that was wrapped in gorilla glue hot glue and 3/8" dia jute fiber. It was for a scratching post for my cats, but I wanted to wrap it around a table leg, so I cut all 3 feet of it vertically with my EDC knife.Well that same night I ordered a new knife, as well as this product and a few others. I figured my knife was done. But after a few days my stuff arrived and I got to work. I used a rough sharpener, like one of those EZ-knife sharpeners with the V-shaped carbide cutouts. That helped. Then I went to my old trusty whetstone, also good. But man once I put the leather to it that thing got SHARP. Since I already got myself a new knife, I gave the newly sharpened one to my girlfriend, and she carries it every day.For this product I'd guess I'd recommend it for the final touches on a repair, or for a good edge after honing. But boy does it ever work great. Especially with some compound.I'm no expert on sharpening, but I've had good results. 4.5/5.

Nice, smooth leather - high quality.
Best value for the money. I mounted mine in a home-made board and it works great by itself. I added some diamond paste and it's super smooth and definitely strops well, leaving some metal on it. I'm a newbie to sharpening but I find the diamond paste helped me not 'roll over' the edge. I've purchased 2 on different occasions - one for smooth side and another for the suede side. I failed to get consistent results on the rough side with smaller snives so I use it on my Hatchet and small machetes and it works better for those tools.Don't get the cheapest leather strop you can find on Amazon. This one has a great price and is I'll definitely buy this again. Comes with a green compound which is great for the suede side, which holds the compound better. No need to load the smooth side in my opinion, the tanned side is certainly usable with nothing added. Love it so far.

Works as advertised, no complaints.
Works as advertised, no complaints. It works great for putting a perfect edge on knives; if you want to use for an actual straight razor, I'd recommend a strop instead, obviously.

Great little strop
Very nice strop, good thick quality leather, looks like it should last a good long while. I have been using it with my straight razor and it provides a good sharp blade for shaving. Also very compact so I can slip it into a drawer. Would buy again and the customer service was great too, feels like a good company and I would recommend them to anyone looking to keep their blades razor sharp.

Heavy leather and a great tool.
I didn’t realize how much stropping adds to the sharpness of my chisels until I used this product. Heavy leather, convenient size and worth the cost.Highly satisfied.

Leather strop is thick the compound isn't that great.
Brown leather strop is thicker than the Hutsuls strop kit with paddle. Compound is not as easy to apply and the compound does not do as good of a job as the BeaverCraft brand.Good leather strop. Buy better sharpening compound.
