I can't overstate how great this wallet is
I bought this wallet 7 years ago and it might be time for a replacement, there's some definite wear and tear but it's been through A LOT. and I've stuffed it with a lot.First and foremost, I like to have notepad on me and pen on me at all times, but I always had a problem remembering to put them in my pockets at the beginning of a day or take them out at the end of the day so having a notepad, pen and wallet all in one really cut down the number of things I have to remember regularly and that alone is a godsend. Then add the other nonsense I put in it like a victorinox swisscard, a mirror, businesses cards, bandaids, tile, and at one point even microfiber cloth, it makes this wallet the second most useful item (after my phone) that I carry on a daily basis. Especially since I regularly go places where I can't bring a phone. The leather is great quality and surprisingly so is the metal of the little pen inside. (Although I have replaced the pen a few times, mostly because I lost it). The wallet is also very compact if you don't stuff it fool of tools and knick-nacks like I do. I highly recommend it.

LOVE THIS PRODUCT!
I LOVE my mini "Things To Do" wallet! I'm not very tall (5' nothing) so it's really difficult to carry index cards in my pocket because they are not very big pockets, and I don't always have a purse or bag with me. As a training/seminar coordinator, I am always in need of something on which to jot notes down to remind me of "To Do" items once I return to the office. This wallet is perfect. It comes with a 'mini' pen so I always have something to write with, and I am able to keep my business cards in the handy slot without having to ensure that I have pockets someplace to store these. I can also keep my photo ID and credit card, so there is no need to take my purse/bag with me and worry about setting it down during a conference and then forgetting about it. I don't really need the "TO - DO - LIST" pad that came with the wallet (although it is cute), but the replacement pads (Royce Leather Replacement Pack Of 10 Plain Pads Note Jotters, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ABAN27W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) fit perfectly and will work so well for my needs. The leather is soft and "executive" looking, and the wallet easily folds back to lie flat so that all I'm looking at is the paper. Not sure about the quality or how long it will last before showing wear & tear, but crossing my fingers that it will be a LONG time.Love this product.

Not as nice as the flip style, brown looks terrible.
Tried this and the Royce Journalist-Style Leather Flip Notepad, Black. The flip style is much better. This is nice quality leather. I received a brown when ordering black. It's an ugly brown, but I'm probably going to give it away or return it anyway. Avoid the brown though, Its not a nice looking brown, somewhere between a nutty fecal color and mid 70's vinyl seat brown. It's a nice idea to have notes and a wallet in one, but storing a bunch of business cards, or the contents of your wallet make it too bulky to carry easily. It opens backwards of what you'd expect, and if you're right handed, you'll be fussing with folding it back or getting the cards out of the way.The pen is the same as the flip style, and the note pad has lines which I found less helpful than a blank slate. I could do a page of to-dos, page of lists, page of notes and phone numbers... The printed text eats into your writing space, which is small already. If you're torn, the flip style is a winner. Still has room for your wallet essentials or a few business cards without being cumbersome. Also, shows on the description free engraving. Says to contact the seller. They claim they can't do engraving since it's fulfilled by Amazon.

The best note taker wallet
I purchased this note jotter wallet three years ago and have been using it daily. It is still in great condition,. The quality is far superior to other note taking wallets that I have used. The design is excellent with space for a notepad, pen, cash, credit cards, etc. There is one outside pocket, three pockets on the side opposite the notepad and a pocket under the notepad. The format is convenient for organizing cards, driver license and notes.I have replaced the pen with a Zebra SL-F1 mini-telescopic pen. I have the Fisher Space Pen Universal cartridge that fits the D1 size Zebra SL-F1. The cartridge that comes with the Zebra SL-F1 is also excellent. The Fisher Telescopic pen will also fit, however I had problems with the Fisher pen falling out and getting lost.I replaced the “to-do” paper with blank paper. There are multiple options for pad replacements including blank pages, lined pages and the "to do" pages.I have yet to see a nicer note jotter wallet. I highly recommend this product.Four year update: This wallet is still in excellent condition after four years. It remains the best note taker wallet available. I am going to order a new one to support the manufacturer.

Returning
I spent an hour trying to like this to no avail. The pen out of the box would not consistently retract/ extend and on the third or fourth use the clip broke off That in itself didn't bother me as I bought my own pen.The credit card/ID slots are very sloppy. No way would I trust valuables such as these not to fall out.Perhaps the discontinued DAVIDCO note taker wallets spoiled me. This comes nowhere near being a replacement. For 48.00 I would expect more.I tried. This is a terrible product that I would not spend 10.00 on.Not writing this in anger, just disappointment.
