VortexOptics SPARC Solar Red Dot Sight - 2 MOA Dot

I installed it on my S&W MP15-22 using the provided riser. So far so good. This is my plinking gun so I didn't feel I needed an LVPO for this little guy. I watched a good number of video reviews on it and decided to get it. The view is is pretty wide considering it isn't magnified with very little view shifting. You really need to be looking for it to notice anything. I've not had the pleasure of using an EOTECH or Holosun so I cannot compare it to any of those units. It feels like a well made optic in the hand, it's light and compact and does the job. Zeroing is fairly easy and so far after about 300 rounds of 22lr, from the bench and hand held, it has held it's zero at 50 yards (the longest range available to me while I was at the range). I have had Vortex optics for my handguns and my other rifle and they have all been great.

If you have never used a vortex optic stop hesitating and get one. I have used them for years, former law enforcement firearms instructor, I have seen it all. Vortex is by far the best value, you will not be disappointed.

As far as the product goes, it's great. Dot is nice, it's got the motion detection auto on capability, clear glass, and (time will tell) insane battery life. That being said, as a Galil Ace owner I'm disappointed that the optic wont co witness with my iron sights. It's not a matter of the mount either. The glass itself sits a little higher than a regular T1 style optic and because of that it wont properly co-witness. Probably not an issue for most folks who will most likely use it on an AR, but something to note if you wanted to put this on a Galil Ace.

Solar is dope, AR is horrible. Drop a solar on a scalarworks mount and you have a sick option on your rifle. Long battery life, durable. Clean dot. And I have a astigmatism that starbursts or shooting star all dots. This dot is perfect dit for me.I don’t have nightvision. So can’t talk about that.
