Gel Seat Cushion – Memory Foam Seat Cushion and Posture Support, Contoured Ergonomic Design for Soothing Relief, Soft Gel Insert and Mesh Panel

I use this at work for 9 hours everyday and it's awesome. I've had it for a year now and performs/looks as if new. I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews for this. I weigh about 170 lbs and the difference it makes every morning that I sit on it is honestly worth 20x what I paid. When you have back pain, etc., of which I have multiple issues from my past, you know exactly what I mean. I do wish it was just slightly larger but I'm still highly pleased and will likely buy another one for other purposes in the future. While it's not as curved as it looks in the picture, it's totally irrelevant too. After sitting on it for a few hours, it does look like the picture. THIS IS NOT JUST A NORMAL CUSHION!!!!!!!! I have normal pillows and cushions at home and I assure you this is a high-tech product that actually does what the manufacturer claims it does. It will put a smile on your face; it does mine every morning at 8:00 A.M. I'm only writing this review b/c I was previously diswayed by the negative reviews and I don't want anyone else to be without an excellent product. :)

I sit in my desk chair several hours per day. My otherwise comfortable chair is suffering from thinning padding on the seat, so I bought this cushion to get more life out of the chair. I was immediately pleased with the results, and now one month later the cushion still seems in fine shape. It is not super-duper comfortable like I was hoping, but at least it does cushion the hardness that I feel protruding up through the padding of my chair. The gel seems to work great at holding its shape (note that the cushion is not shaped like in the picture but is in reality more flat). Maybe if it was a little thicker then I would have gotten that "ahhhh" super comfortable seat I was hoping for. I give 4 stars because it is doing what it's supposed to do, just not spectacularly. Edit: November, about 10 months later -- still using this cushion and am really pleased with how well it has held up! I think I like it more now than when I first got it. :)

This is one of the most comfortable gel seats I've used and it doesn't weigh a ton. The first one I had was made for a wheelchair but lugging it around from chair to chair was a hassle because it was so heavy. This one is comfy, form-fitting and lightweight enough that carrying it around is no problem.

I received this yesterday and it certainly doesn't look like the main photo above, as others have mentioned. I had expected that, and tried it on a few short car trips, hoping it would be very soft and conforming. While the middle portion is softer, that leaves the firmer front edge pressing into the underside of your thighs. The cushion didn't seem to really conform or be gel-like, so I don't think it is likely to ever look like the manufacturer's photo. In order to understand how it was made, I unzipped the outer cover. You can see this on the photos I've uploaded above. There is an inner knit bag containing a foam rubber cushion with a recess in the middle where a soft rubber mesh is glued. No way does the soft rubber mesh meet my definition of "gel." It does allow your rear end to sink down into the cushion, but they could just as easily have contoured the foam rubber or used softer foam rubber. Using a "memory foam" would probably be the best, but that isn't what this is. Because I haven't found anything better, I actually cut open the knit bag and cut/tore the foam away from the front edge to taper it and hopefully eliminate the pressure on my thighs. Haven't tried it yet, but if it works much better, I'll add to this review.

This is the second one I have purchased for my husband. He uses them in our automobiles. He has 2 herniated discs in his lower back and this cushion helps to keep the sciatic nerve from flaring up and causing back and leg pain as he travels. He has had the first one for over 10 years. It still gives good support.

First of all the ad is completely misleading. It appears to be a formed cushion with a raised back and a seat that has a formed butt imprint. What you get is a flat cushion where nothing is raised anywhere and there is no form or shape. It is totally opposite from what you think you are getting. I used it anyway to see if it made any difference or if it was magically going to form to my rear. Needless to say, that didn't happen. I could have thrown any cushion in the chair and that would have served the same purpose. I'm not going to the trouble of sending it back but if I were Amazon, I'd take it off my website. Don't waste your money!

I was hoping that this item would be softer. I guess it's a good thing that it's not, in general, since I'm much smaller than most people who have to make orthopedic adjustments. I'm pretty small (short, skinny), and I have issues sitting on hard surfaces because the combination of being bony-butted and having finicky nerves makes the lateral surface of my legs go numb. Great, so much for studying in libraries! I got this cushion so I could sit for long periods of time in places that don't have fancy ergonomic chairs for people with broken bodies like mine. It does the job, but it's not as squishy as I was hoping it would be. I think it would be great for most other people, though! It is certainly supportive. However, this thing SMELLS. I mean, it really smells. I think I've smelled this smell before, maybe in other gel-based items (maybe a different seat cushion? I do not remember). In any case, the smell is very overwhelming. I am hoping it'll dissipate in a few days.

I read reviews religiously before I buy, so please read the other reviews as well. In this one I will just mention things not mentioned in other reviews. First, yes, it is thin, but that's misleading as the padding it provides is great without the bulk (if you want bulk, just use a feather pillow). The center is gel and the surrounding areas are memory foam. I use it in my gaming/programming chair in which I sit for at 8-9 hours per day. My chair is already padded, genuine leather and all that, but the padding in the chair would indeed get squished after an hour or so and I would feel I am sitting on a concrete floor (very uncomfortable while trying to play Skyrim and kill dragons). This padding is amazing! Since I put it, I've sat on it for 5-6 hours stretches and no squishing or lack of support was experienced (I am 175lbs male). It's thin profile allows it to mesh with the padding of the chair and can be used on variety of chairs. I saw several reviews mentioning that it get squished and that it is not wide enough for their bums. Well, my bum fits perfectly with space to spare around, and as for squishing, it depends on what weight you put on it I guess, and after a certain point, no cushion will help, but only weight loss IMHO.

It's a good cushion. When I received it, I was concerned that it won't stay in place in my car seat, because there are no straps of any kind to attach the cushion to the seat. But after a week of use I can confirm that it stays in place. I have Mazda 3 bucket seats with cloth cover, other types of seats might be a different story. The pillow raised me about 1" higher and now I have better lumbar support (which I barely had before) due to my height I suppose (174 cm). The cushion is comfortable and well made. I'm happy. Edit: after a month of use the cushion got flattened half way, now it's basically half inch thick, and I lost the lumbar support (as was described above). It is still a good cushion, but not as good as when it was new, minus point for that.

Great product! I use it as extra cushion and shock absorption on my forklift . I highly recommend!

I have fractures in my T-spine which cause significant pain when sitting, especially on wooden benches, lawn chairs.... basically anything with a solid surface or that doesn't provide enough general support. This product, in combination with the Obusforme Ultra Forme Backrest, gives me relief! PROS: Sitting on wooden benches, rocking chairs, larger lawn chairs, some dining chairs, etc. are now possible thanks to this gel seat (combined with the backrest). Where I might be able to sit for 20-30 minutes using a pillow, I can now comfortably sit upwards of 90+ minutes because of this gel seat. The time I'm able to sit without needing to get up and move around has easily doubled/tripled. I am very happy with this product! CONS: There are two types of seating I have found this gel seat doesn't help with... couches, and chairs with a small seat (many dining room chairs, bar stools, small patio chairs, etc.) I end up sinking into the seat of a couch, where it would be nearly impossible for this to provide any support, and chairs that have a smaller seat don't work because the added bulk of the gel seat (and for me a backrest too) mean I'm partially sitting off the chair. Overall, I am very happy with this gel seat and think the support it provides in most situations is great!

So far for the first impression it works for me better than those shaped and thick memory foam seat. My body mass isn't large (175cm/72kg) and seems to fit my butt nicely. Currently feeling slight discomfort but I think it's the chair issue. Will test more when the new chair arrives. Update: after an hour of seating my tailbone started to hurt which normally doesn't. I guess i'll have to order another to try out and than choose which one to return. finding seat cushion turns out to be a lot harder than I imagined. I will continue to test this as it's better than other ones i've tried, will update again.
