Good dog warning light. (right, it's NOT a toy!)
Easy mount to a nylon dog collar. Punched a hole in the collar and pushed the spud on the light through. Then used the washer and furnished nut to secure it. This is for my pitch black retriever's safety. The dog is invisible at night. Eneleoop rechargeable AA batteries will give the advertised service of about 3-4 total hours before being depleted. When they get low, the strobe flashes more slowly. Taking the pooch out regularly for business on dark winter mornings and at night after sunset will deplete them in 2-3 weeks. Fairly quick charge to full capacity takes about 4 hours. The Eneloops are great. The strobe if quite bright and when the dog goes in the woods, even a couple of hundred yards off the road to do his business, it is still visible. Another use besides on your bike.

Nice and Bright, but Slow Flash
Maybe its just me, but the word "strobe" strikes me as something one might encounter at nightclub, something that flashes multiple times per second, and may invoke seizures in the photosensitive. I'd say this light flashes about once every two to three seconds, which is not the effect I was looking for. Otherwise, its very bright and appears to be well-constructed.

A toy? It's not a toy
How much fun is this toy? It's definitely not a toy. Planes change course when I'm out riding my mountain bike at nite and this thing is on. This is my second one. The first one broke when it fell off onto the ground. I use the belt clip and hook it to my bike shorts. Very bright strobe that can be seen for long distances. Tends to eat batteries so get the lithium type of batteries. I've tried rechargeable batteries but they don't seem to have the staying power the lithium's have.

Not a Toy
I'm using this as a tail light for my bicycle for night riding and it seems to be super bright. The main advantage of this system vs the LED types on the market is that for about $25 vs $80-$100 you can have a light that is visible from 180 degrees. This light is designed as a beacon for landing blimps, so it seems pretty beefy and useful for a tail light. Very pleased, just ordered another one.

Conscipuity for Motorcycles!
As there are more and more people on the road, they seem to notice motorcycles less and less. To make myself more visible I have attached some red blinking LED's to my passenger footpeg, facing backward. When I get on the bike, I turn them on. The LED lights are very nice and compact. I can be seen well even in the fog and rain from the BACK. BUT.....I felt that I needed something for the SIDE of the motorcycle at night so I could be seen at intersections. The Lightman Xenon strobe in CLEAR is perfect for this application!! I have Engine guards on my BMW F650GS and one of the attachments fits around the bar on the side of the bike, just ahead of the front of the engine and faces the SIDE. The strobe is "nestled" inside of the engine guard and well protected, and out of the way. When I ride in the evening or night, I turn the Clear Xenon on. I can really be seen then. Also when I'm riding in FOG or RAIN, I turn the Xenon Clear on. Helps a great deal then. People have told me they can see me in the pouring rain. The only downside, which I don't consider as a downside, is that I get about 5 hours from a set of ALKALINE batteries. I suppose I should get some LITHIUM for travelling. I always carry a few spare batteries in my top box so it's no problem. You will notice they will begin to slow down in the flashing when the batteries need to be replaced. Just don't leave them on when you go into a restaurant and come out 2 hours later. Waste of juice. I even have a RED one that I attach to the back of my riding jacket for nite or rain riding. Well worth the money!

The one I had I used RC paint it give the clear lens a yellow tint and it worked wonderfully. I now want a red for bicycle riding ...
I have had one of these for twenty years and it just now quit working after falling off the roof of a passenger van, I used it to mark the van on the side of the road when transferring railroad train crews. One of the crew members hit it while moving gear and it cracked the circuit board, looking to get a couple of new ones. The one I had I used RC paint it give the clear lens a yellow tint and it worked wonderfully. I now want a red for bicycle riding at night.

... of these about 30 years ago and still works great. I use it when I go hunting
I bought 3 of these about 30 years ago and still works great. I use it when I go hunting. Just in case of an emergency. A person never knows when he might need help. The other two I got as gifts for my sister and niece. If they have car trouble. . I highly recommend these lights --for your safety and others I also carry extra batterys -just in case I will have to spend more time in the woods .Buy accident.
