Ya it big and heavy, but it was just what I was looking for to set my spotting scope on. When looking through a spotting scope at max magnification you NEED a stable platform to set up on. This tripod coupled with a Leofoto PG-1 gimbal head does the trick! It feels heavy in all the right ways, but it also packs up fairly small, lighter in weight than you'd expect, and is easy to transport. If you're looking for a solid stable tripod, this one is it!

This is what you get when you purchase this: What looks like a very robust Tripod Bag. Seems to be well made for this Tripod. When you put the Tripod in the Bag, you have about 6 inches of clearance, so it's not a snug fit. It gives you some room. Also there is a Side Pouch, which measures, roughly, 11 inches long. Inside the pouch, you will find the Spikes. Both the Spikes and the Foot of the Tripod are the screw in type. The Tripod also comes with a Tripod Weight Basket, already attached. They also include a Half Ball Bowl so that you can switch it out with the mounting plate and a set of instructions. This tripod is heavy, so be aware of that. Not for those long treks out to your favorite sites.ADDENDUM: Regarding the Tripod Bag: You have to put the Tripod in upside down; meaning the Tripod Head is to rest on the Flat of the bag. I put it in the usual way (figuring the feet would be on the flat) and it wouldn't zipper up.

This thing is built like a tank! Very sturdy yet reasonable weight, great finish quality and all components are precise and well made. The carry bag and fabric tray are an added bonus, great value at a much better price than the 'name' brands.

Tripod looks fine-nice and sturdy etc but the plate where the tripod head fits is loose and just spinsNo problem-it's damaged so just parcel it up and send it back right?It's going to cost AT LEAST £15 to send it, but the maximum they will pay is £4.75. What a rip off!I wsas going to get the refund in Amazon credit and simply get another tripod, but I think I'll get the cash and shop elsewhere for the replacement

Only been out with it a few times so far but I’m pleased with it. The only niggle is I work on beaches with my photography so sand gets in the twist locks. You can’t wash it out because the threads on the locks are coated in very sticky grease. Other than that, great so far.Had it a while now. I’m very pleased with this tripod. It’s very sturdy, even in a storm, isn’t affected by salt water and now that the grease has worn off, it isn’t affected by sand very much.Great tripod.
