Unlike many standard poly tarps, white poly tarps are specially designed to allow for a bit of extra light to shine through. These heavy-duty, multipurpose outdoor coverings can endure all weather systems and high levels of wear and tear, but are uniquely suited for situations that require a bit of extra light penetration.

Works well. (For a short time.)
At the end of this original review I said "Ask me again in several years." Well, seven month would have been a more accurate time span. The tarp ripped where it passes over a well rounded corner and in the last month has shredded completely. The only reason I gave it two stars was that it lasted seven months. This tarp replaces a typical silver/brown that was covering the jon boat in the driveway here in central Florida. The old one lasted about five years before the Florida sun made it crunchy and I'm hoping for at least that much longevity from this new one. It does seem to be a heavier gauge and it is definitely a tighter, more water repellant weave and I'm hoping the bright white finish does a better job of reflecting the sun. Actually, the only reason I didn't give it a 5 star overall rating is because it's only a month old. Ask me again in several years.

Eh .....
I'm going with this tarp is Okay. I bought a 16x8 size for a 15x5 fishing boat. The tarp overlaps on the front about 5-6 inches and is flush to the back of the boat, so the tarp cannot be 16 feet long.It overlaps the sides by 12-16 inches on the widest area of the boat, which makes the width 6.5 feet, maybe pushing 7 feet. The thickness of the tarp I cannot measure but the "feel test" is that the tarp misses the heavy duty tag by quite a bit. It'll last a year maybe and then I will just go to Walmart and get one for much less money, use it a year and repeat that cycle.

Details matter
I like everything about the tarp except for the "advertised" size, which is 7' 6" wide, not 8' wide. The smaller size would not usually be a problem unless you are trying to cover the contents of an 8' shelf. The supplier needs to make the actual size more clear.

Good for about 2 years under the Southern California sun
I use this tarp to cover the patio, providing shelter and privacy. The sun here is relentless, but I still get about 2 years from these tarps. The white color still allows plenty of diffuse light while providing shade for the pups and over the seating area.

Great quality tarp!
We used this as an outdoor movie screen and worked great. It's a good quality solid tarp. Strong too! Survived a couple wind storms.

Solid for one season of use.
Corners are well reinforced. Side rings are not, so they pull the grommets out like a cheap blue tarp. Tarp material itself is heavier than average.

Exactly what I had hoped for!
This tarp is used as a cover on our deck and it is attractive, strong, and a great value! Glad we got it!

Just ok
The grommets are not equally spaced, not even close, ranging from 12 - 24 inches. I hung mine as a wind break and had to move all of the hooks that I put up based on the description. Otherwise it is ok, but nothing special.
