SIGH!
This product does not draw properly keeping the feed up in the bottle instead of flowing into the base. I had high hopes for it but after trying multiple bottles and it made no difference. To get it to work I had to leave the base loose on the bottle to the point at which the base was in danger of dropping off.

You are better off buy-ing the Perky-pet mason jar feeders
You are better off buy-ing the Perky-pet mason jar feeders. These can hold a lot of fluid, but they don't seal well with all bottles and are hard to clean when grunge gets inside. Perky-pet is over twice the money, but ten times the quality.

Base is Hard To Clean
I ordered two of these feeder bases from Gadjit because I thought it would be a great way to re-use a plastic bottle.I found two problems with the design: First, it can take a bit of trial and error to find a bottle that fits without leaking, because soda and water bottlers do not manufacture a standard-sized neck - even the same brands vary from one region to another. I found the small glass Perrier bottles not only work but look good with the unit.Second, and more problematic, is that the feeder base is one piece. It comes with flower-shaped feeder ports (that include small perches) that snap into holes in the base. You can't get a cleaning brush into the base through the main hole and if you have a flexible small brush to go in through one of the feeder port holes you have to remove at least one of those flower/perches to do the cleaning. They are not meant to be removed, I think, since you have to pry hard to get them off. This means you have to be very careful not to leave the feeder out long enough for any mold to develop inside because there's no easy way to scrub it clean. If they made this with a snap-apart base I would buy two dozen. It's a good size, the birds like it, and they look really nice with the Perrier bottles.
