Works all the Time
I have owned a number of paper shredders. Nothing goes in the recycle that has a name and/or address unless it is shredded first. Most of my recent shredders have been the type with a container attached. These all have a number of “safety” features. Safety is important as shredders can cause some injuries if not used correctly. However, I have had a number of shredders which are so safe, they do not really work. A shredder which should feed 8 or 10 sheets will jam on 2 sheets. I do a lot of shredding, so I go through a lot of shredders. Recently I needed to replace a shredder. After reading several reviews, I zeroed in on the Aurora line. They had good reviews and were well liked. So, I selected this one. I have been using it for a couple months now. It is by far, the best shredder I have owned. It is very quiet compared to past shredders. It is easy to use. The basket holds a lot of shreds. This one shreds everything (includingCD’s and credit cards) into smaller pieces than my past shredders. This allows the bin to hold a lot more before it fills up. The best part, so far, this shredder has not jammed. It works every time. It should automatically reverse to clear jams and I assume that it will reverse when necessary. But, so far, no jams. I use it the same as previous shredders, but no jams. I includes all the usual safety devices, but they do not get in the way of the shredder doings its job.

Very Good Shredder
My old Fellows Shredder finally died. I read the reviews and decided upon the Aurora, 12 sheet shredder. It was easy to set up and I had piles of old documents to shred. It is very quiet, and I like the cross cut feature. The pieces are small. I have tried 6 sheets, as the paper I am shredding is thicker, but 6 sheets works well. I have not tried going for 12 sheets, I think they mean 12 sheets of thinner paper. The bin is easy to empty. I have already filled up a huge trash bag with the shreds, and the Aurora is working just fine. It did not heat up as my older Fellows did after an inch or so of papers. So far, I am very happy with the Aurora, I hope it lasts for many years.

Nice looking and Works Well
The media could not be loaded. Typically you do not look at a shredder as a piece of furniture, but this is different. It looks modern with nice design elements around the body making it a nice addition to an office space.First thing I noticed is that it is well made and quiet. I replaced my last shredder that was noisy and wobbly. This is a single body with a basket that is easy to remove for emptying. I called the company to confirm that you can use a trash bag without interfering with the functioning of the equipment.I was looking for a micro-cut shredder and this fit the bill. Multiple features I like include: 60min run time, auto-reverse, and LED status indicator lights. So far, I love this shredder and it is one I recommend.

Nice Shredder, But Had To Return
This is a nice shredder, but I had to return it. After opening and getting it setup, I realized it had a crack through the top plastic mold that's holding all the weight of the heavy motor and shredding mechanisms. So as much as I wanted to believe it was just cosmetic, for the price paid I didn't want to chance that crack getting bigger from stress of torque from the motor that at some point would render the shredder useless. The return was easy. I have not ordered the same model again just yet as I wanted some time to think about a few of the drawbacks that I saw.As far as shredding ability, it had no problem with multiple pages and this was the first micro-cut shredder I had. The pieces are very small and if someone did want to try to do anything with them, it'd take forever to get anywhere. The couple of drawbacks I experienced were that the bucket doesn't allow a normal store bag to fit easily. I doubt the manufacturer expects people to use bags inside the bucket, but if you don't it gets messy with the dust in there and some inevitably makes it out the front. So I tried a store bag, and there's not a great way to stretch it easily so it fits.I also noticed that it blows a decent amount of paper dust out the back of the unit. First time I've seen that with a paper shredder. There was a decent amount of dust on the wall the shredder was sitting in front of. I was hoping for a clean shredding experience, but that was not the case. So in terms of leisurely shredding things a few papers here and there, I think I'd be more inclined to just do it all at once every month, then clean up around the shredder. For right now I've avoided buying another shredder. I think this one is a good workhorse and I like that there's a long continuous run-time, but it is fairly large -- probably best for an office setting, or if you want to roll it under your desk when not in-use. I also wish that bucket slid out a bit easier and allowed for a bag to be placed in there to catch everything. And that the mess was contained inside the shredder and didn't make it onto the wall. I don't think it'd be a huge issue for most people, but I'd really prefer not having to vacuum up after shredding if I shred more than a few pages at a time.I'm still rating this 4-stars because I think it's a quality brand and a really nice shredder that should last a long while. Mine came damaged and if it wasn't for that, I'd probably have kept it despite the issues I mentioned.

Buy this, it's great unless you have unrealistic expectations.
Get ready to be surprised in a good way. It works well, it shreds everything into tiny pieces and while it's rated to run for 60 minutes I used it longer than that with no issues at all. Maybe if you don't push the limits of what it can shred easily it takes longer to overheat. I tried a CD and it didn't challenge the machine at all. The big surprise wasn't that it works well, after all that should be expected, but I can't believe that it doesn't make as much noise as other shredders I have used or any appliances like a blender or a vacuum cleaner.April 2, 2025I dug out a couple of large boxes from storage filled with business papers that are now more than 7 years old so they can be destroyed and thrown away. I used this shredder almost non stop all day and it never overheated or struggled to cut through a dozen sheets of paper or the occassional CD or cardboard. The machine would only occasionally pause because the bin was full and had to be emptied. Unless the machine I got is a fluke this is the best little shredder I've ever used.
