Your turn
Welcome to the 32nd Millenium, where the Thousand Sons are looking for some payback. As a fan of the Sons and not a fan of the Space Wolves, I had this on pre-order. This was a good read to me, not a great one. Honestly, I feel a bit bad for both sides in this one.Magnus shows that he is a primarch and when he wants to, he can layeth the smacketh down. Also, that he can plan with the best of them.Blackwing is my favorite character in this. Would love a series with him.The book closes out with some Space Wolf self-deception.I think there has to be an editing error, or roman numerals have gotten really odd in Gothic. If XVII is seventeen, how is XVIII twenty-eight?Edit - with my 2nd read, I realllly like this. Upping to a 5 star. I think I know more about the Thousand Son/Space Wolf (feud? mistake? hatred? pity?)

A great siege story
A great siege story, equal to Graham McNeil's "Storm of Iron". A good fleshing out of The Space Wolves. Plenty of interesting characters that you never lose track of in the midst of all the carnage. Bjorn the Fell Handed is used to great effect (although his appearance is totally spoiled by the books illustration inserts). A depressing but satisfying 'everybody loses' conclusion that should be no surprise coming from the WH40K Universe. Good stuff.

Great book. Good to see another one about the Space Wolves. I had read Battle of the Fang a long time back but this newest one was a very good addition to that one.
