Great life history of an oak
This is the first book I've seen about oaks that actually showed the flowers and the growing acorns hanging on the tree. It includes an acorn being buried and forgotten by a squirrel with clear graphics of the acorn starting to grow underground. And the story also includes the changes in the young tree over 20 years until it is old enough to have acorns of its own. The graphics are nice and clear and fun. The acorn main character speaks in cartoon bubbles, anthropomorphized a bit but accurately in terms of the science. Makes learning about a tree interesting.

A little nutty?
I purchased this book for my library and was sad to see one of the trees being described as "a little nutty" with crossed eyes. I do not think this is okay.
