No. Hands-on modifications are required.

I doubt it. There is no coving protecting the usb port.

Is this a usb-c or another usb connector? the april review says it is not usb-c, but the july review says it is usb-c. did they change?

The bitter end of the connecting wire is USB-A that plugs into any standard computer USB port. The other end is hardwired into the lamp itself. There is no USB-C connector.
