SUCCESS! in Clinical Laboratory Science

I absolutely loved this review book! The outlines were the best part of this book for me. It is very comprehensive although a few subjects were lacking just a little bit. The answer explanations at the end of each chapter were excellent; when equations were involved it showed how they were solved step by step. I used this as my main review book, did some of the question in the MLS Review by Harr, and did a few--like 5--practice computer adaptive tests on labCE (shared a subscription with my friends)--overall that combo worked for me. I do wish that the book was a hardcover though because my copy looks beat up from so much use :) Definitely get this book if you are preparing to take the ASCP MLS exam, you will not regret it!

Im currently a CLS/MT student at UTMB and Ive started studying with SUCCESS via recommendation from my professora. The book is sectioned off into very concise parts and they are information heavy. Though this may bog down some, its nice to know you really are not wasting your time with excess information. there are 100 questions per section followed by a section of answers and explainations. There are also pictures and I feel it is very easy to read and understand. Id buy it twice if I needed to. Just remember: Putting time into it is kinda the name of the game! This is a great study guide...for class and the boards! I have just finished my academic work towards my MLS degree and used this as a reference throughout my classes. The questions at the end of each chapter are great, I used them when studying for my exams. The best part though is the answers to these questions. They are full paragraphs which really help you figure out where you went wrong. I am studying for the BOC exam now as I start my clinical rotations and I am finding this book very helpful!

The book is GREAT! Really clear and concise, It even has larger font than you would find in most textbooks. So it's great for someone who has already taken the courses but wants a review book to study for the exam. Unfortunately, the BRAND NEW copy I received DIRECTLY FROM AMAZON ($90) is missing the pages for color plates 1-49 and only has color plates 50-60. This means that my book only has 2 and is missing about 10 color pages full of images. These pages are the only color full color pages in the book and as far as I can see and they are only used for answering some (maybe about 10%) of the questions at the back of the book. The questions at the end of each chapter are really good because the answer for each at the back has an explanation of why the correct answer is correct and the others are not. So it's really disappointing to realize that I am missing out on the the color images for some of the questions. I only realized this after using the book for the past month and a half, so it's too late to return and I've already written notes in it. Still, this book is completely worth the purchase. Just make sure to check that all the pages are there when you receive it so you can exchange it for a new one if need be. I've included an image that shows the color plates pages starting on plate #50.

This book is a must have for anyone prepping to become a MLT. It is full of wonderfully helpful info. Each section is broken down...such as hemotology is seperated from chemistry. There is a review of each section followed by MANY multiple choice questions. At the end it gives the correct answer with explanation as to why. This along with the BOC will help you be prepared to sit for the certification. My instructor recomended we get this book and I am so glad I did. (This book has already helped me pass several tests in hemotology.)

This book contains everything you need to pass ASCP BOC MLS. If you're so tired of clueless ppt slides from lectures and irresponsible instructors, this book gives you an overall coverage of MLS. However, you do need to purchase ASCP BOC book to be familiar with the question style and some knowledge points. Good luck! Remember the pass rate is over 90% nation wide when you're suffering anxiety during MLS BOC.

The study guide questions alone are worth the money! I'm making A's and B's in my program. Excellent resource to review for an exam or quizzes.

I purchased this one used. When it arrived, it was in a better condition than what I expected. It arrived right when it was supposed to arrive. The book is organized very well. The outline gives an overview of the subject material. Looking thorough this book has boosted my confidence about taking the ASCP MLS exam.

Good to use for studying. Book filled with notes! The best to help those struggling!

Excellent Questions in it. A lot of questions from this book have appeared on tests. The summary chapters are not that useful, but the questions are.
