Bought this drive so I can store all of my photos in one place. Excellent piece of kit and does exactly what it says on the tin! Great value for money but I can’t understand why the black one was twenty quid more than the red one? Of course I bought the red one! Easy to use and now I can take my photos to relatives and bore the pants off them! Only one con, I was watching the map for my delivery and was told you are next, then I get a text to say ‘Your parcel has been delivered, it was handed to the recipient’. I went to the door and it was leaning against the door and had definitely NOT been handed to me. I’m lucky because I can, I think, trust my neighbours, but to leave a high value item outside the front door and not even ring the bell, I think is a bit lazy on the part of the driver!

Straight out of the box, it works on both Macbook and PC without any reformatting, without any installation. You just plug it to the mac or to the pc and that's it. It doesn't even have a power cable. Just the USB. I connected it to the macbook first, then switched it to the PC. Now I have a folder for Mac and a folder for PC on it. And it's so small and light, I can move it between computers as if it's a USB stick. When I was transferring files from my WD to this one (via PC on USB3), it was crazy fast. It also works fine via a USB hub. The only negative is that the USB cable is very short. Just 35cm. Where it says "start here", you don't really have to click on that to start. That's for the product registration. Seagate put that "start here" to get you to register the product with them. You don't need that to use the Hard Disk. But you need it before you can activate the free Photoshop. I see various numbers for the Photoshop free subscription. Mine came with 4 months.

I have now 4 Seagate HD external drives due to its reliability and storage capacity. The transfer speed is very good, too, and it is priced within reason. A good option for those who often needs more storage without breaking the bank.

I'm a professional wildlife and landscape photographer so many of my images are days in the making and the photo opportunities rarely come around twice to give me a second chance. Where and how I store my data is really important to me so over the years I've learnt a lot about external drives - and how they can let down in a big way. This is an exceptional drive for the price and is the only drive I use these days - I have four of them. It's solidly built so I can take it on my travels confident it'll cope with the conditions and, more importantly, it's reliable. Seagate stand by their product with a great guarantee and I'm happy to recommend their product 🙂

I always buy Seagate portable HDD's, I never see the point in changing once I find something that it reliable, and I have never had a Seagate drive fail on me within 5 years or more. I already have a 4TB connected to my Blu-ray player which has all my films and series on in 1080 (and lower), and another 2TB (with the faceted enclosure) connected to my Mini-PC as extra storage. I needed a new one as I just bought a new OLED 4K TV and as I do not intent to buy a UHD player I needed a drive to put 4K content onto so that I could watch them in all their glory. I've never ordered a One Touch drive though and so when this arrived I was really surprised as to how slim and how light it is. Seriously lighter than my other 2TB portable, so much so that I suspected it may in fact hold an SSD. I had to check on the box and on Amazon to be assured that it is in fact a normal HDD. Of course these come with a 2 year warranty, I always make a point of registering these drives with Seagate. I did have an issue (first time ever with a Seagate), in formatting it in Windows 10. I never keep the software on these things, I back up all my stuff to at least two other drives on my main PC so I simply do a fill format (not quick) the drive in Windows and then make my folder tree. However on this occasion after 2 minutes Windows told me it failed to complete the format. The result was that the drive was no longer available in Explorer so I had to go into Disk Management and disconnect/reconnect the drive. Once it was available in there I deleted the drive and created a new simple volume from there. Even then it took longer than is usual for it to create, but it did create it and it seems to be fine now. I have no idea why it did this.

This came well packaged in a retail box and inside you get the Hard Drive, USB 3.2 Gen 1 Cable, and Quick Start Guide. All my other large external hard drive are Seagate and I use the free “Toolkit” back-up software, so it did make sense to get another Seagate drive when I was after another was. Particularly as they offer the 2-year data recovering plan. I went for the Blue but to be honest, I was not that fussed about colour, although it does look quite smart. It is quite compact, given the fact it is a 5TB drive. However, although it states it is a 5TB, the usable space is actually 4.54TB. The reason for getting this drive was purely as a back-up drive for all my DVDs and Blu-Rays, which I have and am still in the process of digitising onto an existing drive. That way I can access then across all our smart devices in the house. In doing this, the last thing I wanted to do was lose it all. Once I have finished doing this, this drive will be stored away safely in a fireproof safe. So, physical size was important. I was not overly fussed about transfer speeds. For me, this drive is ideal. It offers a decent amount of storage in a reasonable compact shell. I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative, and useful. Thanks for reading. NB. البائع محترم جدا وواضح إنها شركة ممتازة وخبرة في المجال والدليل على كده اللي هو أهم شيء الإهتمام بتغليف الطرد (الهارد) بأكثر من طريقة تغليف للحماية من الضرر أو التلف الذي يسببه المندوب أو عملية النقل وتجنب الصدمات، جالي متغلف بطريقة ممتازة لم أراها مع أي بائع من قبل بأمانة داخل أكثر من كرتونة وغلائف بلاستيكية فقاعية كثيرة ده غير كرتونة الهارد نفسه اللي داخل غلاف بلاستيكي قوي، والفاتورة جائت بداخل الغلاف وده محصلش معايا من أي بائع أخر، أما عند تجربة الهارد لقيته هارد قوي وإستجاب بسرعة بعد الفرمتة ونقلت أكثر من 85 جيجا في 5 دقايق، سرعته فوق الممتازة بس معلومة لازم توصل الهارد في منفذ usb3 في الكمبيوتر علشان تستفاد بسرعته كاملة... شكرا أمازون وشكرا لللبائع وجزاكم الله كل خير... سجلت حضراتكم في المفضلة عندي علشان هشتري منكم بعد كده إن شاء الله، وأتمنى إنكم تستمرو على الخدمة الجيدة مع المنتجات القوية والجيدة حتى يستفاد كل عملاء أمازون من حضراتكم
