Colwood Super Pro II Woodburning KIt

I recently invested in the Colwood Super Pro II Woodburning Kit and it has completely revolutionized my woodburning projects. Being very new to pyrography, I was hesitant in making such an expensive purchase. All I knew it that the $20 kit I had picked up from Hobby Lobby wasn't worth the gas that it took me to get there. So, with trembling fingers, I ordered this kit. First: I ordered the kit on 10/7. The estimated delivery date was said to be between 10/11 and 10/17. It arrived on 10/9. Blown away by the super fast shipping. It may not be a Prime item, but the 9.95 I paid in shipping got it here in Prime time. Second: This thing heats up and cools down super quickly. Settings are entirely dependent on the wood that you are using as a canvas. In the pictures I have attached, the clock is pine which can tend to make lettering and such not look quite as crisp especially when moving against the grain. The other is a scrap piece of live edge basswood that I used to do some free-handing and experiment with the three different tips that were included. Finally: I can tell that this thing is going to give me a lot of return on my investment. Overall, I am thrilled with the results and more than satisfied with the purchase. I recommend this kit to all levels of pyrography! Kudos to Colwood and MDI Woodcarvers for a job well done.

I bought this set to get started with wooburning, I had no experience with it previously. I found it easy to set up and use the Colwood Super Pro II. I comes with 3 tips that are useful for a variety of projects. The book is very informative too. The Colwood heats up very quickly but it also cools quickly once you shut it off, making it easy to start and stop projects and remove the tips. The reason I chose the Colwood was because of the cork grips that are near the tip, giving you more control of the pen when you need to do fine details. The unit is also pretty compact and easy to transport. I love my Colwood Super Pro II and look forward to using it more.

When this pyrography kit arrived I was super happy and eager to try it out. This pen gets HOT and even holding it nearly at the wire I feel very little heat. Unfortunately one of the pens didn't heat when it arrived, so I contacted the seller through amazon and they were very quick to respond with pictures and trouble shooting options to ensure I wasn't using the pen wrong. Extremely helpful details on different aspects that could be wrong on my end. The pen still did not work, however, so I simply replied again to the seller and they immediately send a replacement, ensuring they would test it themselves before shipping. It arrived quickly and works like a charm. I'm loving the burn quality and smoothness of this pen. I transitioned to this one from a cheap craft store pen, and the difference is incredible. If you are wanting to take your pyrography to the next level this is definitely the pen to get. The last one I had would leave my hand and wrist aching from the angle and bulkiness, but the petite pens and heat from this Colwood are so wonderful I don't need to press into the wood to get a good burn, nor is it heavy or awkward. Love this pen! I Like that it got two pens and there are replaceable tips! If you are getting one get it with replaceable tips! I like that temperature adjuster it’s so smooth! Since I already owned the Detail Master Sabre and Excalibre all my tips are fit with this machine! Not sure what happened there they probably merge together. I like that you actually can adjust temperature up to 10 which is really in my opinion too much! So far so good! Digital one is called galaxy but in my opinion this one it’s great for professional artist! Someone mention that it is Cadillac of burners well it really is so far! What I don’t like is back wires are exposed and not sure if you touch it was going to happen. They need to close them somehow! Not sure why they’re included in the book which is worthless and they included tips which I can only use one but rarely really! And I don’t like pen holders on top my sabre and Excalibre had them on the sides! That’s about it we’ll see what happens in the future!

This is a wonderful wood burner

Doesn’t take up much space. Works well, easy to use and is comfortable, similar to an ink pen.
