Michel Design WorksKitchen Dish Towel, Lemon Basil

This is the 4th kitchen towel that I've bought from Michel Design and it's very pretty and useful. I see that one person said these towels are 'useless' and just a decoration and wanted to be able to use them right away, not 'after 50 washes'. I disagree with this as I've used all 4 after washing once before using. They are absorbent enough to dry glasses and dishes without leaving spots or streaks on them. I find that this, and the others, can wrinkle if not washed and dried properly since they are 100% cotton. I've put them in the wash on a gentle/delicate cycle using fabric softener and dried on low heat until damp after which I let them dry completely on a drying rack. By doing this I don't even need to iron them. The towel is quite large compared to most others and looks nice in plain sight, like hanging over the oven door. The lemon print looks just as the picture shows only a little brighter in person. I think this and any other towels by this company are well worth the price and there are so many different colors and prints to choose from depending on preference and decor. The towel comes neatly folded with a small tag tied to it showing the design, size, contents and washing instructions, making it a good gift for someone too! One last comment is that this is not a terry cloth towel and for those who don't want to take a little extra time to care for them should not buy them!

I love these kitchen towels for their gorgeous lush designs as well as their absorbency and thickness! These are the true flour sack cloth type of towel, not looped terry cloth. They are quite strong and durable, despite being thin and flat. Their absorbency increases over time and like all fine linens, they get softer and better over time as you use them. One of the greatest benefits of these towels is that they do not leave “fuzz” or fibers all over the place, which should not be in your food (yuk!). They also last forever! Unlike many of the cheaply printed towels you might find today, the designs on these beautiful kitchen towels do not fade or bleed, and so they retain their lovely colorful designs literally for years. I found these a few years ago and I absolutely love them!!! I would highly recommend these as a wedding gift, or just a wonderful gift for someone who loves cooking and/or baking.

I gave one of these as a gift to my Aunt and she loved it! It's really pretty, the quality appeared to be nice and the print on it was just lovely! The only thing that surprised me was how large it was. But overall I think this was an excellent purchase and gift. I will have to shop this brand for my own home one day!

If I had any criticism of Michel Design works, it would be that I can't find a replacement bistro bowl. This company makes quality stuff (this dish towels are no exception,) except it seems they are turning away from kitchen products and hard selling expensive soaps. They need to bring back the floral bowls, aprons etc. My Mom loves lemons, so these beautifully designed (almost sack cloth towels) kitchen towels are fantastic! The colors are rich and they take a very long time to start fading (I'm talking 50 washes plus.)

The good news is that the fabric is tough and strong and holds up well. The bad news is that the fabric is tough and strong and just isn't soft enough to be a good dish towel.I purchased several of these towels in different designs, because I loved the illustrations. They are beautiful, but the towel itself is very stiff, even after several washings. I was hoping for something more like a flour sack fabric.

We ordered a few designs and noticed that we liked some more than others (better quality printing of the design, softer and brighter cotton, etc.). When we flipped over the tags on the towels, we noticed that all of the 'favorites' were all made in Turkey and the others that felt more like a rougher, off-white canvas were made in China. It's strange, but we noticed a difference. Others might like both manufacturing styles, but we'd rather purchase the ones made in Turkey, to get the feel and look that we want.

I love these in the kitchen and use them there exclusively!

I have this hanging on my stove handle with the matching potholders on the frig. Such a great fresh healthy look...and a reminder to use lemons! With it folded over the handle, though....one never gets to see the Words on the top. Perhaps they will come up with a picture frame for the kitchen with the same print!!! (Or, I will just have to figure out how to frame this.)
