I recently purchased the Apricorn Aegis Secure Key 3NX, and I must say, it's been quite an impressive addition to my tech arsenal. This USB flash key offers a simple yet highly effective solution for keeping my sensitive data secure without the need for complicated software installations or setups. One of the standout features of the Aegis Secure Key 3NX is its robust 256-bit AES XTS encryption, which ensures that my data remains safe from prying eyes. It's a comforting thought knowing that even if I were to misplace this device, my information is still well-protected. Plus, the fact that it's FIPS 140-2 level 3 validated adds an extra layer of confidence in its security. The onboard keypad is a game-changer for me. It allows me to set a PIN to access the device, making it virtually impossible for anyone to access my files without the correct code. This feature simplifies security without compromising on effectiveness. I no longer have to worry about complex password management or software vulnerabilities. In terms of usability, it couldn't be easier. Just plug it in, enter your PIN, and you're good to go. It works seamlessly with my computer's USB 3.1 port, and there's no need for additional drivers or software. It's simple, straightforward, and gets the job done. Overall, the Apricorn Aegis Secure Key 3NX is a fantastic investment for anyone looking to secure their data without diving into the complexities of encryption software. It offers top-notch security, ease of use, and the added benefit of improved temperature management. It's a practical and reliable solution for keeping your important files safe, and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a secure USB flash drive.

I've used Apricorn drives for my sensitive data like tax data and passwords for almost a decade now. Every few moths I back the data up to thje previous drive and store it the safe. Every few years I pick up a new one. I lost one and had to retrive some passwords from notes and browsers and reset the rest. Newver a worry about the lost drive ! The data cannot be retrieved without the password. A bad actor would have ten tries before it's permanently erased.

I have used these secure keys since July 2016. I store copies of all my accounts, passwords, titles, deeds, birth certificates, etc. and they have proved utterly reliable. I keep a primary and backup watertight container in fireproof bag in my safe and the third backup at an off-site location. Currently, I have one old secure key from March 2017 (still works but not used), one 3NX from December 2020, another 3NX from April 2024 and their latest Secure Key 3.0 from January 2025. My original one purchased in 2016 battery was finally retired as its battery wouldn't fully charge. All have been utterly reliable, utterly secure. Note: The old versions allowed 10 passwords attempts before it locked the drive - period. This wasn't programable, couldn't be changed. I would point out the new one's default to 20 attempts (10 tries then you must input a code that gives you 10 more tries). This seems excessive to me however the good news it is programable! You can program/change it for more or less tries.

This is a great way to store my living will and important passwords, safe combinations, account numbers and treasure maps. If you can remember one password that's 8 or more characters long, that is not obvious then the chances of someone cracking this is slim to none. Works just like a thumb drive but it needs to be unlocked before using. I'm not very techy at all and the instructions were easy to follow.
