Excellent sound quality from this easy-to-use USB microphone
I bought this USB microphone after I read about it in ComputerActive magazine. I am a physician and post-doctoral researcher in medical informatics working on developing innovative applications for patient education. The article in ComputerActive magazine was about creating podcasts and this microphone was recommended as a considerable improvement on the cheap microhone built into the laptop / desktop. I do have a high-end microphone with an XLR connection but that needs a dedicated amplifier to provide an audio feed into a PC's sound card. This USB microphone has a PnP driver so it's ready for use as soon as you plug it in. I used it with the freeware audio editor, Audacity. Speech recordings are very clear, of high quality and free from background noise so I can't wait to use it for my podcasts. The microphone comes with foam windshield and I found the audio iinput level easy to set on Audacity. The PC I used was running the tried and tested Windows XP which I still use a lot. You certainly can't go wrong buying this microphone. I am evening considering using it for wildlife sound recording with it connected to a netbook and with the mike mounted in a home-made parabolic reflector!

Very good for the money.
The quality is very much good enough for Youtube voice recording. It is a substantial improvement on the built in mic. on both the C922 and the Brio camera. It is a mono mic. The foam wind muffler acts as a pop filter too. I highly recommend getting a mic arm - I use one of the articulated ones. This will cut down the noise from the desk. Try holding it the air when recording - there is a marked difference in the unwanted sound. Downside is that the body is two narrow to slip into a sprung mike support to deaden sound from the desktop. Having said that I get little noise from that. The mic. is sensitive and delivers plenty of sound to the recording. I listen on a fairly high end domestic Senheisser headset. This mic. sounds better than the built in Senhaiser mic.

Plug in, and record. Very cheap, but very good.
I’ve just started to make a few digital audio recordings for various projects at work, including some guided meditations, and a bit of singing for pleasure. As I’ve only just started to do this, I didn’t want to spend loads of money on a mic that I might not use all that often. I’m suitably impressed, as it hooks up to my MacBook 2017 ed and Logic Pro software without any trouble. However I have to use a USB to USB-C adaptor for my MacBook, but that’s no real issue. The mic records clearly and crisply. It’s quite sensitive and does pick up background noise easily, but I’m very much an amateur, so that might be due to lack of experience on my part. The mic and stand feel like they are both very robust. I’d highly recommend this product.

Pleasantly surprised!
Needed a microphone to record my classical guitar into Audacity. After reading online that an expensive condenser mic was the only option (plus phantom power unit), and that nothing else would do, I thought this mic would be terrible. However, I am very pleased with the mic. It feels sturdy and is larger than I expected. It arrived promptly in a decent box with good instructions and a foam muffle thing. The mic is not over sensitive and reproduces the sound very well from about a foot or so away from the guitar. I'm sure a mic ten times the price may sound better, but not ten times better. Overall the sound is very rounded and certainly not harsh. Perhaps it lacks a little depth, but a tweak with the EQ and a bit of reverb certainly brings it to life. Recommended and great value for poor musicians!

A great general purpose microphone
Summary: - EDIT: not as resilient as I first thought - Surprisingly high quality build - Good sound quality for the price - Extremely easy to install - Comes with a wind filter EDIT: A month or two after purchasing this, the microphone has started outputting a loud, constant buzz which gets louder when I touch it. This seems to be a fault with the microphone and not my pc, since the replacement mic works fine. I suspect that a fault has developed with the wire. It's suffered occasional small falls to the floor, but nothing that I would expect would break it. I'm going to leave my original review as it was, since I'm aware that this could purely be bad luck and it really was a decent microphone before this happened. I am however dropping two stars from it, and will suggest that the microphone is not as resilient as I first thought. I can't really fault this microphone, the price seems pretty fair for what you get. Build Quality: I was surprised by how professional this mic looks when it arrived. The body has some weight to it, making it feel sturdy, and the legs give a little resistance when adjusted, so they keep the microphone in place fairly well, especially on a flat surface. I've seen some reviews complaining about the legs but I don't see the issue, they've worked fine for me and I've been putting the microphone on the arm of my chair! The mic also comes with a wind filter cover, for any of you who might be planning on using it outside. Sound Quality: I tested this by placing it on a desk in front of me and speaking in a soft voice, below the volume I would normally hold a conversation. It picked up my voice quite clearly, and I couldn't hear any trace of static/noise. I use the mic mainly for watching netflix with my girlfriend over skype and she hasn't complained about being able to hear the show from my end, so it seems to do a good job of filtering out background noise. She's also been able to hear me from around 5-6 feet away if I raise my voice a little, although she said it was obvious that I'd moved away from the mic. To give some idea of quality, I could imagine an amateur YouTuber using this with no problems whatsoever. I doubt you'll find PewdiePie recording with one any time soon though! Installation: It really is plug and play. I've used the mic on both Windows and Linux and in both cases I had to do nothing more than plug it in. If you've found this review helpful then let me know with a thumbs up! Likewise, if you found it lacking then please go ahead and click the thumbs down.

Recomendado.

I bought this in 2019. I was not able to use it for the originally intended purpose for long before lockdown hit the world in March 2020 and we all switched to WFH. I added a LG soundbar to my WFH setup in early 2021, that is when I switched doing meetings from a wired Logitech headset to a soundbar + mic combo. Freedom from the the headset wires was definitely a bit overrated (I don't move much anyway), but still, it's good to not wear a headset all day for your 7+ hrs meeting marathons. The audio quality of my voice picked up by this mic is very good. My meeting colleagues rate the various microphones I use in this order: 1. Logitech H390 (highest quality) 2. This microphone 3. Oneplus buds Z2 4. Samsung Galaxy buds pro Note that the Logitech H390 headset is an awesome product for meetings (priced around 5K INR), its a USB headset so no noise introduced by loose connections of 3.5mm jacks. The audio from the Logitech H390 mic is crystal clear for the other party (best mic I have ever used for meetings), and speakers are also great, along with a mic mute button in hand. I have used Logitech H390 for 10+ years and I swear by its quality and durability, each unit of my H390 lasting over 3+ years of daily use. Get that blindly if you need a headset for meetings, or if you can't afford to go to a soundbar + USB mic setup. If you want to switch your WFH meetings from a headset to a soundbar + USB mic setup, this mic is a good option for around 3K INR. Go for it!

I purchased this microphone to use for my youtube channel I recently created. I do not use it for anything crazy, no singing or recording music, for example. I simply use this mic to record me talking for my videos. This is a very inexpensive microphone that comes with a pop filter and stand. Its sole use is as a USB microphone as far as I can tell. In my opinion, it does a very good job. I record my audio using Audacity which I like a lot. I usually only add bass to my audio after recording which is standard for most audio. The sound is really clear and sounds natural, i.e. not compressed or high or low in pitch. It is fairly sensitive but if you have any background noise you can just use the noise reduction feature in Audacity to select the background noise in your audio and then cut out any background sound. I simply leave the mic on my desk a few feet away from me or so. The mic also is made out of metal and feels fairly durable, so I do not think you should have issues with it wearing out. Again, all in all I think this is a very good basic and inexpensive USB microphone and I would highly recommend it. In the picture attached, I included everything you will get. The microphone with stand and the pop filter which i have attached. For some reason the microphone works in audacity but will not engage when i record video on my webcam. I do not know if it engages with skype either, so keep this in mind and hopefully it is just a small problem i need to fix on my end if i wanted to use my mic with those programs. All in all this is a good affordable microphone. I recommend it for people who need to do small audio recordings that sound relatively clean. I think the microphone on your laptop is sufficient though if you are only using it for video or voice chatting. Nonetheless a great find!
