A new way of looking at and reframing fear
I have been reading Lissa's blogs and also participated in two of her web classes. What draws me to Lissa is her authenticity, vulnerability and continued seeking.I was given one of her advanced copies and have written about her on my ForMomsOnly site which is a place of healing for mothers who have lost children. The moms are thrilled as am I because when one has lost a child and some of our moms more than one the bottom drops out of our world and fear can become a constant companion. What resonates for me is the thought form that all of these life events that I have been experiencing are happening "For Me" and not "To Me" to help me to use as a reference point when I'm in relationship with myself and with others. There is something for everyone in this book and to understand what living in constant fear does to our bodies and to our whole being has made me acutely aware that I can simply lean into the fear, be with it and then surrender and ask that it be transformed and brought back to me as a healing moment. My hope is one day to meet Lissa in person and to feel the warmth of this amazing soul. I am one of her greatest cheerleaders and truly feel as if I've met a sister of the heart.Lissa has a gift with words and a way of reaching her readers in the most powerful, yet tender of ways. I am so very grateful to have read this book and to be able to pass it along and recommend it to others.

Great book for anyone interested in knowing themselves better.
This is a rather fascinating book on FEAR. We all have it. I understand my own fear better after having started to read it. And I understand how to minimize my fear. The author is an MD, who has done her share of soul searching. Very helpful book. Highly recommend.

This book will really help me
Very timely for me....and very good information. I'm not even done reading it. The author really nails the cause of my anxiety. She doesn't need to share so many examples. They are all good, just so many of them.

Life Changing Book
I usually don’t do customer reviews unless it was really bad or really good. In the case of this book it was amazing good. I have always struggled with spirituality and have always leaned towards blaming religion for most of our problems. I’ve been looking for the reason why studies seem to always show that religious people live longer and are generally happier than non-religious people and Lissa nailed the why for me in this book. She writes in a style that is fun that makes you feel like she’s in the room talking to just you. I’m even on a first name bases with her and we only know each other through me reading this book. Don’t let the title fool you, although Lissa discusses fear, this book is a manual on how to be human and be happy at the same time. Great stories, great advice, and a step by step list of how to get there. I plan on using the information in this book to help change the world one person at a time. Thanks Lissa for fueling my pilot light getting me motivated. Thanks AgainLissa's good friend Tim

Imperative Teaching for the next Generation
I wish there was a book like this when I was growing up. With the perfect blend of scientific knowledge, spiritual wisdom and personal story, Lissa teaches us how to live a healthier and happier life. Her Four Fearful Assumptions are spot on in our world today and are countered perfectly with her Four Courage Cultivating Truths. Even though I have been working diligently at understanding my own limiting beliefs for a number of years now, there was more to learn and a deeper dive for me to take as I absorbed the wisdom of Lissa's work. Thank goodness there are people like Lissa out there with the courage to not only call it as she sees it, but to take the journey too, so that we can feel supported in our own journeys. This is stuff we should all be teaching our kids so that future generations don't have to battle the same limiting beliefs that we did.

Great detail on the subject of literally being "scared to ...
Am I the only person that struggled with chapter 2 where the author gives an over the top litany of the many ways that fear can kill you?! Great detail on the subject of literally being "scared to death". I don't know about the rest of you but, if you are already struggling with debiltating fear, about the last thing that you want to have pounded into your head is how dangeroud fear can be! It set me back for a week! Having said that, I did really like chapter 1, and will muster up the courage to move on to chapter 3. I recommend skipping chapter 2. I already know first hand what fear can do.

The best book on the subject of fear and courage. Easy to understand and practical. Timely and important beyond measure.
This is the most brilliant, concise, comprehensive, easy to understand, and eminently practical treatment of the subject of fear and courage that I have ever seen. I can say unequivocally after 30 years of work and research in all aspects of the human condition, and having read Lissa Rankin's book, that it is much more than the most brilliant prescription for how to turn fear around to something that serves, but it is also cure for all that ails humanity and the world because it is all driven by one kind of fear or another and the wounds that have come of fear. Lissa has done the greatest service one can imagine. This book is a spark that will light up a massive amount of people to accelerate their healing journey at this critical juncture.
