It worked fine. Battery included must have been low. Wouldn't work even tho red light would turn on. Put new battery in and all okay. Used it to hang large window boxes on aluminum siding. Husband was going to buy another one but reviews were lousy across multiple sites. This had good reviews and arrived in two days without having to drive to Lowe's. Four stars because battery didn't work. May not use again for a long time or could use next week! My husband said it would have been great when he was hanging our televisions.

I can use it to locate the stud, metal and other small things. I were afraid of destroying the wires behind ceiling, because I wanted to install the drop light. It's impossible for me to pry off the ceiling, so I just considered anything could help me. I searched on the internet and found this tool. But when I received it, I was doubted such item can find wires? I tried and located the wires, it really did. I am so happy for that. And the tool is easy to use, it really works good for me.

Sometimes finds wood sometimes nothing

I bought this stud finder about four years ago. It never worked properly and now it doesn't work at all. I do not recommend.

After replacing the cheap battery that this came with, it works like a charm. My husband and I installed a surround sound system and had to find the studs to hang the back speakers. This was challenging with the cheap battery. Once I changed the battery and used it to mark studs in our kitchen to cut a pass through bar, it was a lot easier.

I found that this stud finder is very easy-to-use. it was able to find a stud immediately after calibration both sides of it try to determine exactly where to put my home for my electrical box I would recommend this to anyone who wants to find the studs in the wall or pipe or electrical wiring

The stud sensor works the electric wire sensor does not it gave false readings almost 100% of the time. The metal detector was unreliable with many false readings as well. As a stud sensor I am satisfied the other functions were useless.

Wacky to operate. Sensors aren't consistent in finding what they are set to find.

works great but i had to but a new battery bc the one provided did not work. it was quite the hassle so i'm giving it 3 stars just for forcing me to head to a store on foot to get a new battery.

Had some trouble initially using it, was the first time using a stud finder. Took us alot of time to find the perfect spots. Otherwise it was easy to read and worked fine.

Not sure yet what to think about this detector. I had it for about a week and then it stopped working for a few days. The AC detector would beep constantly, no matter where on the wall I put it. Also, the stud mode wouldn't calibrate and wasn't functional. I then tried it a week or two later and it began working again. I would rate it as working well now but the reliability seems dubious.

Do not detect all the time, but for a cheap part it's of, just have to look 2-3 times to be sure

Works pretty good. Not great for locating beams behind stucco but works great for drywall.
