Fun but a little difficult to assemble!
Fun, a little difficult to assemble between 7 & 8 years old. Parts s bit fragile.

Great - make sure you use small side cutters.
This takes time but is great quality time with your child. We were twisting the parts and the plastic would break, but we broke one of the parts. Use side snips to release all the parts. After that, it should go together pretty well. The instructions were really good.

Very hard to assemble
This is very hard to assemble. I could not make sense of the instructions. I can normally assemble things with no issue. I had my husband help my son with it and he was able to get it together but then it didn’t work properly. It was trying to move, but just wouldn’t work. I don’t know how an 8 year old could put this together. Don’t waste your time with this unless you are already good at this kind of thing.

This toy is for above 9 years old
Great learning toy for kids and fun for adults if you are into science. I have 8 years old boy and he needed my help to build this toy. Adult supervision is required for kids but he was having fun helping me in assemble and participating in assembly himself. The good thing about this is, it works on Solar power so no need to worry about the battery. My son is great fan of boats so first thing we made was a surf boat and he loved it. This could be a perfect gift for occasions as well.

Complicated but Fun
I bought this robot kit for my 9 year old nephew. It would have been too difficult to put together by himself but he was very engrossed and actively involved with adult help. He was so proud and thrilled when he finished it and couldn't wait to take it outside in the sun to see it work. It is definitely for older children or ones that have had experience with building robots with small parts and many directions.
