Read why this is the BEST splint for TRIGGER FINGER !
Here's why this splint works better than the others. It's unobtrusive. It's brilliant design won't let your finger bend enough to get stuck in the trigger finger mode, yet it does give it ability to bend slightly. That slight bend is just enough to be able to type on a computer. I've tried other traditional splints and this is the only one that you don't have to remove in order to type. The design of this splint makes it that the bulk of the splint is actually in your palm, not on the outer part of your hand ( FYI, I have small hands and it is not the slightest issue that it's by your palm. I don't notice it at all, it is 100% comfortable). Why is it good that it's not noticeable? Because you can walk around without the splint being the first thing people notice when they see you. Before I got this splint I wore other splints and I was always asked what happened to my finger. With this splint people almost never even notice it, or if the do, they almost never ask about it. It kind of looks like you might just have something in your hand or on your finger. It doesn't stick out, it doesn't look weird. It just does it's job quietly. Also, with other splints I had to remove them to put on socks because they got in the way. With this one I don't. Same thing with using an oven mitt. Another big plus of this splint over the traditional type of splints, is that it lets your finger breathe. Might not sound like a big deal, but if you have your finger in any of the other traditional splints your finger eventually gets funky. Wearing a splint, any splint, for trigger finger is far better than getting an operation, or getting shots, but it is a long term commitment, or at least in my case. You have to let the underlying swelling reduce enough that your finger doesn't get stuck in that trigger position. With that said, it's far better to let the skin on your finger get air, as this splint allows. A little trick I use- sometime i will turn the splint so that instead of the straight rigid part covering my palm, i flip it so that it is under my trigger finger ( still on the inner side of the finger, meaning the side that doesn't have the finger nail). Sometimes I do it just because it gives me a little more support for the finger, if I am generally having a painful arthritis day, and all my joints are achy. As you know, with trigger finger you need to wear it to sleep. While none of the splints were a problem to sleep with, and they all are better than the pain of waking up with your finger bent, this splint is by far more comfortable. This splint as all the others I tried is easily adjustable to fit your finger. This one uses velcro. I must say, it is very very comfortable, I don't even know I'm wearing it. Other splints have left me with red lines where the two sides meet, or have felt tight at times. The only negative for all splints, is removing them when washing your hands, doing anything wet. I don't like the feel of it when it is wet, though it doesn't effect the product itself. As a matter of fact, every time I do laundry I throw the splint in with the wash. I put the splint into a little mesh bag, something like a "lingerie" bag, only because I don't want the velcro to catch on anything else in the wash. I usually don't write such extensive reviews, but I wanted to help my fellow trigger finger sufferers out there. I always appreciate Amazon reviews when I am looking to make a purchase, so this is my way of paying it forward. If this review helps you, and you decide to try it, I am sure you won't be disappointed. It's priced a bit higher than other splints, and I know when I myself was trying to decide which to get, I was reluctant to get this one, especially because it was so "different" than the others. It really works. And no, I did not get this for free to promote it, I wish I knew how people did that. I personally have bought 2 of these and am spreading the word, because of how well it works for me.

Wow, this thing really works. It's a miracle!
Off and on over the past several months, my index finger on my left hand has gotten stiff and I suspect due to some possible tendonitis. I've been trying so many remedies under the sun, but not many have actually worked for me. I decided to buy this splint and give it a go. There have been other splints I've bought, but they really limit my ability to use the finger when i need to type, and as part of my job, I have to do a lot of typing each day, and at home. It's only my first day and I already am feeling a difference. I think this is easily one of the best things I've purchased on Amazon all year. I looked at similar splint sold on Amazon, but it didn't come with free one-day shipping, so I went with this product instead partially because of that reason too. Give it a try if you're suffering from tendonitis or trigger finger. My only criticism with this product is that it could be a little bit more snug and tight, but for what it is, it sure gets the job done. Update: Already after two days, and I've regained a lot of movement back in my index finger. The muscles don't feel so tight now, but I'm still going to keep wearing it a few more days until I'm sure all the symptoms are gone. This product has been a huge lifesaver, and if I ever come down with trigger finger again, I will know exactly what to do! Typing has become enjoyable again, and I'm ready to get back into my job and coding with full force. Thank you, Handfix! :)

It Really Works
Trigger Finger. What a crazy name for a crazy ailment! Put "Itchy" in front & you could be describing a character from a Western Movie! Kind of funny, unless you just happen to be suffering from this condition. Then you can't believe how frustrating, inconvenient, & sometimes embarrassing it can be! Try bending and opening your fingers. Now imagine one of your fingers staying in the bent position. Try to straighten that finger without helping it with your other hand. Sometimes you can but it feels weird. Sometimes it'll make a popping sound. And sometimes it even hurts. That's what Trigger Finger is all about. And, unless you go to a doctor and get a cortisone shot, don't expect it to go away by itself. And, what can you do to let you use your hand AND not have your finger, sooner or later, cramp up...for lack of a better description of what happens. So, I started looking online for something that would keep my finger from staying in the bent position BUT allow full use of my hand. Looked at the usual stores..Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, etc, but didn't find anything. And a finger splint was not a consideration..it to would immobilize the finger but also render the hand almost unusable. Enter Amazon and HandFix trigger finger finger splint. It looked and sounded like it might do the trick. The first thing I saw was the price tag..a little hefty at $25.96. Well, seeing as I couldn't find anything else, I decided to order it and hope for the best. Being a Prime Member, I received the product in 2 days. I have to say at first when I tried it on it didn't look anything like the picture. I then realized the picture showed the palm view. I think it has to do with me having "wider/thicker" fingers than the model in the pictures! The top part ot my HandFix doesn't meet each other..there's a gap (approx 1/2 inch). At first & occasionally I'll use a bandaid or something similar so the thin strip locking the two sides at the bottom (velcro) irritated my finger at first. Now I don't use anything and have gotten used to it. I wore it for most of the day at first, even when I went to sleep at night. I take it off whenever I will be getting my hands wet, but put it back on right after. While wearing the HandFix I can use my computer keyboard and perform almost any task & it doesn't feel weird anymore. I especially like the fact I can pick up my Grandchildren without any fear of my finger locking up .. something I couldn't do with a regular stiff finger splint. Short of the cost (which isn't an issue anymore when I consider it works) I think this product is really good. I even find I can now wear it less during the day & my "Trigger Finger" is almost back to normal. I 'very worn it now for approx 5 weeks, & it has held up quite well! In fact, short of having the HandFix label peeling off, it's just as good as when I first received it. I highly recommend it! Oh, my trigger finger is my right ring finger.

What a relief!
This sure makes a difference. It keeps the base of my finger stable and prevents it from bending too much, which allows me to do everyday movements without fear that the finger will suddenly get painfully stuck in bent position. My only complaint is how expensive this is, for such a simple little design. I wear it exactly as shown in photo, can slip it off and on without unwrapping the velcro strap. UPDATE--after wearing for several days, I appreciate the benefits of this splint even more. IT WORKS. I have discovered that many slight hand movements affect the tender finger joint that needs to be allowed to heal (I was given steroid shots at base of affected fingers over a week ago.) However, some of the other reviews here are so weird, I have to respond. First of all, why on earth would you try to wear this in water (like to wash dishes)--that is just plain dangerous. Second, if whatever tool you are using or job you are doing causes the short metal support inside the splint to bend, then STOP because that alerts you that you are exceeding the finger bending motion it is designed to prevent. Finally, there is no need to repeatedly adjust the Velcro strap. Once it is set to fit your finger size, simply to slip the band off your finger (like you would a ring) any time you need to do so. I have already ordered a second splint, for my other hand. Hey, if injections and splints can help me avoid surgery and also heal my hands, then it is well worth it!

Works okay. WAY overpriced. UPDATED did not cure my trigger finger
UPDATE: I've been wearing my splint for about 11 weeks and while it does help mitigate the pain it has not been a cure. This thing does help my trigger finger but I can't give it 5 stars. It hasn't cured it. The price is outrageous for what it is. It also has to be removed for things like cooking or it will get disgusting. Sadly mine was somehow lost when I removed it. It's small so it's pretty easy to lose. I made myself a new one because I just could not justify paying that again plus the shipping. If the price was more reasonable I would give it more stars but it is just not worth that price if you have even the most rudimentary of sewing skills, especially considering that you really want to have two so you can let one dry after washing it. If you can't make your own then I guess you are stuck with the price. Just don't lose it like I did! If you can afford it, get two so you can wash one and wear one because it will get gross. It's on your hand afterall.

Little miracle
After having two rigid custom made splints made that I could not sleep in I found this one's on Amazon. It's flexible, the portion next to the palm can be bent. I noticed an improvement immediately. It's especially helpful when crocheting and driving. I had a number of 45 minute drives and my hand would hurt like hell and the fingers were claw shaped from holding the steering wheel. That stopped with the brace. Some nights I have to bend it a little more than others, but it works. My occupational therapist is very impressed with the product. She did have to add a layer of the thick moleskin inside and over the edge because I have very sensitive hands. My pain and flexibility of my hands and finger have improved dramatically. I was able to avoid the cortisone shot I thought I'd have to get. Three years later and I've not needed to wear it in close to a year. The price is significantly reduced. Sometime complained the Velcro wasn't holding well. Once you fit it, you can just slide it on/off without opening it again. Another secret, you would think bending your fingers back to stretching things out would work. In actuality you need to bend your fingers and hand down at the wrist. which would get rid of 3/4 of the pain. That stretches the tendon out that runs down your forearm. My Dahn Yoga instructor did massage/stretching on it too.

2 Important Negatives to Consider Before Buying including Fundamental Design Flaw
The good news: A splint like this is a great idea if you have a broken, sprained or trigger finger. It's hard not to use your middle finger when you're doing housework, gardening, etc. A splint like this one works by wrapping around your finger with basically what's a piece of velcro. That's connected to piece of stiff, heavy, black material that feels as if it's got something rigid inside it. The idea is that the stiff support keeps you from inadvertently bending your finger when you're using your hands. The other fingers bend but the braced finger doesn't, and this works well. The bad news: there are two main negatives about this brace. One in fact caused me to lose the brace (which is why there's no photo) and I'm going to order a different one to replace it. Let me explain. 1. the brace easily pulls off. Because the brace is all in one line, no matter how firmly you wrap the velcro around your finger, it will eventually slide off. Worst yet is if you have gloves on to garden or do housework for instance. It's almost guaranteed that when you pull your gloves off, the brace will be inside the glove, not on your finger. Even without wearing gloves, my brace kept sliding off my finger. Finally it became lost permanently because it fell off when I didn't notice. Don't buy this brace unless you intend to have to replace it! 2. The stiffness of the splint part doesn't last long. Over about two weeks, the part of the splint that sticks down into your palm to keep you from bending your finger softens and moves away from your palm, meaning your finger has less and less to support it not to bend. Overall, that's the main reason for wearing the brace, which is why I gave it only one star for being so unstable and in essence not doing is main job when that happens.

Works very well for Trigger Fingers and they are comfortable and adjustable.
Handfix helps during the day to support my hands to keep my fingers from curling into my palm. At night Handfix makes sure my hands do not make tight fists and saves me so much pain. They have given my trigger fingers a rest and my hand are much less swollen. I actually turn Handfix supports around so the long part goes up the finger at night and down the palm during the day. You can type with Handfix and the only suggestion I would make is how about skin colored ones or fun colors. I do wash them in mild soap from time to time and dry with my hairdryer. I highly recommend these little braces.

Does a wonderful job, and is well designed for comfort.
I suffer from what's called trigger thumb (or finger). Basically my thumb joint where it bends is clicking and it hurts when it does. It's a repetitive stress injury from using a touch pad on my laptop, and from holding an ipad. I needed a small thumb splint to hold my thumb straight so that it might heal. This splint doesn't look like much right out of the package, but some thought went into it's design, and it works beautifully. For $22, I feel the price is a little high, and perhaps there should be the option of another velcro ring higher up on the splint. But for the most part, this is a great product. Comfortable to wear, and I'm going to order a couple more for our first aid kits. Edited to add: I was wearing the splint upside down so no, there is no need for extra velcro. It fits well and in particular, the little flap that rests against your hand helps to keep balance while your digit is extended. Also of note, this splint is very comfortable to wear and even sleep with. I change my mind. It IS worth the $22. Good design, fits great.
