how do you make the light sensor work? the clock chirps every hour and wakes up our toddler.

Accepted Answer

The bird’s voices are controlled by a light sensor. If the incidence of light is less than 0.8 lux, the birdies have to go to sleep and stop singing. From a brightness of 2.0 lux, they have to sing again. The frequencies of the bird’s voices are different. The oriole and the blackbird sing with a slightly louder, stronger voice than, for example, the nightingale. All BirdHouse clocks are equipped with the same light sensor.

Question 3

Clock just arrived.  The hour hand is hanging loose, stays at 6 o’clock.  What can I do to fix this?

Accepted Answer

- take out batteries
- lay down clock on the table
- turn minute hand clockwise to the full hour
- if the “click” is at the full hour it’s fine, if not: loosen the knurled nut a little and adjust the minute hand so the “click” is perfectly on the full hour
- tighten gently the knurled nut
- make sure that the nut does not jam
- move hour hand to 12 o’clock and push it gently onto the axis
- reinsert batteries
- turn the minute hand clockwise towards 1 o’clock and wait until you hear another “click”
- ready for restart
