Super Cute Book
Bought for my 5 year old niece. She loves it. The book has a quick reference page in the back and more thorough information throughout.

Distracting artwork, uses same storyline as other books in series
I stumbled upon another book in this series, "Who Pooped in the Park? Yellowstone National Park" at the thrift store and was impressed. So I went to purchase this title as the we live in Wisconsin and make many of our vacations in the north woods. These books are a great way to introduce kids (and yourself) to animal identification by the tracks and scat they leave behind. I was disappointed to find that the author used the exact same storyline (even down to the boy's fear of bears and spats with his sister), but simply subbed in location appropriate wildlife. Additionally, the illustrations of the people in this book (different illustrator than Yellowstone) are very bold and distracting. The animal illustrations are fine, but the scat drawings seem a little blurry and vague. I'm not sure I could successfully use it for identification in the woods. The good:- Good selection of regional wildlife for the northwoods- Interesting facts, particularly if this is the first book you've read in the series- Nice summary page at the end of the book showing all the animals covered and their tracks and scatThe bad:- Distracting illustrations- Recycled storyline from another book in the series- Pages are cluttered and overstimulting

The pictures are not really that helpful
I spend a lot of time hiking in the desert, and am trying to improve my knowledge of natural history. Part of that is knowing who left that cute little deposit in the middle of the trail. I'm building an atlas of pictures to keep on my phone for comparison when I am out, and I thought this would help. Not really. This really is a kids' book, and not much use for the serious student of poop. Two stars for not meeting my expectations. See below. Most people start out reviews from one of two positions. About 5% of all reviews are a one star because the product they received was poor quality, or they did not get it all and the consumer is just mad. I don’t believe 5% of every product made goes out useless, but everyone who gets a bad unit will tell you.About 90% of reviewers start at 5 stars, and if the reviewer did not find anything heinous about the product, that’s what they give. To 90% of people, 5 stars means, “it was just ok.”From this day forward, my reviews start from the middle. Three stars: the product met my expectations. If I give it four stars, the product exceeded my expectations for quality, value, or performance. In case of five stars, the item got itself out of the box itself and walked across the water. If I give a product two stars, it failed to meet my expectations in some way. Anything deserving the ignominious one star review either went back to the vendor or into the dumpster.

Little boys will love this book!
I sent one to my great nephew and he wants his grandma to read it every night. I gave one to my grandson several years ago. We live in AZ. This tells what you'd find in the desert.

Who Pooped in the Northwoods?
I purchased this book to read with my four year old grandson. We all know how fascinated little boys are with the word and anything associated with it so I thought this was perfect. It is a very educational book taught in a fun and interesting way. It shows pictures of different animal "poop" and tells alittle about what the animal eats and then it also shows the animals tracks and talks somemore about it. My grandson was very interested in both the poop and the tracks. We made fun plans to go into the woods near his home and look for the different poops and tracks. The book was very fun to read and it gave us another excuse to go on an adventure. It certainly helps me to be a fun Grammy. And drawing the different animal tracks was fun. Great book. I understand there are more books in this series set in different parts of the country. I will certainly purchase them. I recommend the books to help get kids outside and in love with nature. Good exercise too.

Amused and educated the kids
Took a walk in the desert with the kids and documented different animal droppings than read this book to identify and learn about more animals in our desert. Plus, the kids think anything about poop is funny
