"constructed from heavy-duty plastic. They are BPA-free" BUT the more important question to ask is, if they are "BPA-free", what exactly are they replacing the BP "A" with since it's still plastic? More then likely they are replacing the "A" in PBA with an inferior much more dangerous plastic such as BPS or BPF.

Most everything is dishwasher safe to some extent; it’s the heat from the drying cycle, particularly in a dishwasher that has the heating elements exposed on the floor of dw, which causes the most problems. In that type, plastics should be washed on the middle or upper racks only. Do note, however, that sometimes it’s the detergent that’s doing, some — if not all — of the damage, so do your due diligence before washing anything that’s remotely precious to you, either monetarily or sentimentally. Btw, if you have a Miele dw, you don’t have to pay attention to the warning, “dishwasher safe — top rack only,” because the heating elements are not exposed on the floor of a Miele!
