I have not done so, because it's so easy to wash by hand. I use the blue, gentle plastic scrub side of the sponge for the glass, and simply run the metal tea basket under clean running water, rubbing it lightly with my fingers if necessary to remove leaves. I'd be concerned with detergent deposits affecting the tea flavor from a dishwasher. This is, of course, only my opinion.

Can I pour boiling water from a kettle into this? I don't have a microwave.

hello, yes you could steep tea bags in this tea pot. I would recommend two tea bags, it makes 3 8oz cups of tea. I love my tea pot I use it daily with tea bags and loose leaf.
