Hands Down the BEST Straw Cup - Easy for Baby to Use & Very Durable
This is my favorite sippy & straw cup! I have tried a lot of different cups for my daughter, and this one is miles better than any others we have. I waited to leave this review until I had used the product for awhile to be able to comment on it's durability - I purchased this cup almost a year ago and my daughter has been using it ever since. (I've since purchased 2 more of the same cup to have a backups when being washed, etc.).PROS:- The cup is extremely durable. In my house it is thrown/dropped onto the floor from my daughter's high chair often and we haven't had any issues with the glass breaking or any damage to the cup. The cup has also been dropped outside several times on concrete without any issues.- It comes apart easily for washing. I don't understand the reviews that complain this has "too many parts" for washing. It is dishwasher safe and takes all of 15 seconds to take apart and put in the dishwasher, and then maybe another 15 seconds to put back together once washed. 30 seconds is really not a lot of time. I prefer to handwash the cup personally, it doesn't take very long to handwash either. Not sure about the reviews complaining about mold growing in the straw.... I have only ever used water in my cups, so perhaps this was an issue with juice or milk? In my experience the only times I've seen mold grow anywhere is when something isn't washed (like that time I forgot about an insulated cup of OJ in my car for a week, it wasn't pretty). The straw and silicone straw & sippy are EASY to wash and can also be cleaned with a straw cleaning brush.- Water (or milk, juice, etc.) only touches glass and the silicone straw. No nasty leeching plastic coming into contact with your baby's liquids.- Easy for a baby to learn to use. My daughter refused all bottles as a newborn/young baby, I tried what seemed like everything. I was a little nervous at how she'd do with cups since she refused bottles. When she was around 6 months I gave her this cup with the straw attachment on as a 'toy' to play with. After a couple weeks I would fill it half full with water when I gave it to her, she'd still use it as a toy and liked to chew on the straw part, maybe it helped with cutting teeth. Within a month of when I first gave her the cup she had figured out how to drink out of it, and by 7 months she successfully drank water out of the straw sippy with every meal. Maybe she would have picked it up just as easy with a different cup/brand, but this sure was easy for us. I have to disagree with the reviews that complain "it's too hard to get liquid out of the straw" based off of seeing how easily my daughter picked it up. (Though I will say now that I've tried other cups after introducing this one to my daughter - if your baby is used to plastic sippy cups that are virtually weightless and water easily flows out of the top, I can see how this cup might be an adjustment for some babies depending on what they're used to. For us it was easy, but it was also our first cup.)- Green Sprouts customer support is awesome! The cup I purchased had a defect in the sippy silicone (it dripped water out when turned upside down). I emailed Green Sprouts and they had me send them some photos showing what was happening and ended up sending me a new replacement cup and a few extra goodies for the trouble. They also allowed me to keep the original cup (I just got rid of the sippy adapter and only use the straw adapter, which works perfectly.) I was incredibly impressed with their customer support.CON:- The lid doesn't seem to attach on strongly enough. If I try to put the lid on and then put it in the side compartment of my diaper bag (sized for cups & water bottles), the lid will inevitably pop off very quickly. All 3 cups I have do the same thing, so it seems to be a universal issue. This cup is wonderful, I've used it for almost a year now and see it lasting through future children also. Very happy with my purchase. I read the negative reviews before purchasing and was a little on the fence when I first received it, but have since found that I didn't have any issues with anything people are complaining about on here.

UPDATE 12/17 I still like this cup but...
Update Review: I knew about the traces of lead in the markings before I bought this item and bought it anyways because its on the outside of the glass between the outer plastic shell where my daughter can't reach it and liquid can't reach it - or so I thought. My daughter is now strong enough to flip the cup up-side-down and does so often. I noticed it was leaking EVERYWHERE which it had never done before. Upon closer inspection I also noticed some fluid was inbetween the outer plastic shell and the glass (where the fluid was touching the lead markings) and everytime she'd flip it up and back down the fluids would go between the two. On the bottom are 3 slits where the fluid would fall out. I had the lid on properly and secure so there is either a design flaw where there is a gap between the glass and plastic that fluid can move freely in between and potentially bring contaminated liquid back into the part where she is drinking from or I need to make the lid extra tight (maybe it's not as tight as it was when new? - Its dropped often (All still prectly intact and hand washed a few times a day. I now only use the straw part and keep an eye on her so she keeps it up right so theres no chance of this happening. I also hand wash all parts to keep it in good condition and the lead out of the dishwasher. I still love this cup and currently have a 2nd in my cart. This is still the best cup for toddlers on the market in my opinion -ive tried an obnoxious amount of them. Just wanted to make ppl aware. I am keeping the 5 star rating because of this.Original Review: (rated 5 stars) My LO has been drinking out of a straw since she was 6.5 months. I have been trying to find a sippy that is safe for her and I love this cup. I originally bought the small Pura Kiki cup which I love, but it doesnt have handles and the smaller version doesn't have straws. This is safe, has handles and a straw. I love that all the parts come apart so it can be thouroghly cleaned. I was concerned about the weight of the cup but my LO is now 9.5 months and can lift it while it's full of water with no issues. I was also concerned about it being glass but my father has dropped it from highchair height 200+ times and it's still in great shape. Make sure to take it apart, wash and dry it daily (sometimes I do it twice a day) and inspect it before putting it back together for saftey. I've had no issues and I'm very pleased. I'll definetly be buying more.

Great, safe cup for babies and kids
I have had two of these cups now and I love them. I bought my first one a few years ago, and I still use it for my second child. Despite being dropped from a high chair, it has never broken. It is easy for my baby to hold it, even though it is a little heavier with it being glass. I love that my children's drinks are only touching glass, and not plastic.I would send my daughter to bed with it, and it never leaked. On occasion, if I did not put the top on just right, it would leak a little, but all I needed to do was adjust it and it was fine. There are many pieces to this, but once you have put it together once or twice, you get the hang of it, and it is very easy.My only problem with it is that I cannot find a replacement top part. My daughter chewed the straw to the point that it needed to be replaced, and I cannot find a way to buy just that piece. This cup is durable and I think well worth the cost.
