Shaving Stool

We haven't written a review in quite a while, but this stool was worth it. And we wanted to share. Living in Hawaii, selection for these types of specialty items can be quite limited. To find something compact, sturdy, and well built of teak wouldn't be easily possible. Often times we build items that are specialized like this, because it's easier, but again, we wanted something out of teak, meant for our shower, and with the rounded edge. We were really nervous about how it would arrive, traveling so far. We usually buy items at a lower price point so this was an investment for something we worried may arrive broken. Please see the photos. No damage to the item. We did expedite the item, so I am not sure if that was a factor, but the packaging was as nice as the product itself. I understand the price point a little better now. Very pleased. Product seems high quality, no visible damage from delivery, and really nice finish. The grain from the wood and the manner it was assembled is lovely. We just received it, so I cannot vouch for how well it will hold up, but we are really excited about this addition to our shower, and the adjustable feet are just the right touch for the slight change in the shower floor for drainage.

Love this stool! It fits perfectly in the corner of the shower and the wood looks beautiful. I love that the rubber feet adjust for any difference in the shower pan tile helping to make it sit level. I purchased it to hold some very tall bottles and it is perfect for the purpose. Very sturdy and easily assembled.

Looks great. Very well made. Great fit and finish. Came very well packaged and fully assembled. I did ding one star as it is solid, but somewhat small. Okay for storing things (I don't) or your feet or placing towels before use, but too small to sit on comfortably. I'm 6' and 200 lbs and find it awkward to attempt sitting on in the corner. And, if leaning forward it tends to tip until the 3rd leg touches the floor. Not dangerous, but makes one feel a bit uncomfortable. I would recommend for most in any case.

This is an elegant piece of goods. The stool is made of first grade teak with the product displaying the woods natural beauty. Before assembly, which takes about an hour, be sure the seat top is large enough for your bottom ! Place the top seat on top of its shipping box or something similar and insure the size is correct for your application. Construction is very good and parts fit perfectly together. Teak is finished smoothly as no sanding is necessary. Follow the assembly instructions by not tightening all the supplied allen-head screws to their full length at first. All the hardware was supplied as well as an assembly wrench. If a small amount of soap is applied to the screw threads, it will make assembly easier. Once all the pieces are fitted then finish tightening the screws. Assembly takes about an hour of turning the six screws. Once assembled, I would recommend applying a top coat of teak oil (boat store) or other teak preservative to prevent discoloration and mold growth. Fell apart after 6 months! I paid a little more for this hoping it would last a couple years, at least. I was very careful with it-It was seldom exposed to direct water. I have a large shower & kept it in the corner furthest from the shower head BUT it broke anyway. From the seller’s pictures, it looks like it is sturdy, held together with actual hardware but as you can see, its slapped it together with wood glue. Wood glue + moisture = trash can. Very disappointed to say the least. In this case, paying more does not get you a better product. Totally misleading.

Just what I was looking for! I wanted a teak wood corner stool to put my foot on to shave my legs with a bottom shelf to store my shaver, foot scrubber & shave lotion. It’s perfect! Not too big and not too short. Solidly built, easy instructions to assemble.
