Great cables for the price.My old set was also gold plated and shielded but they were also about 25 years old and definitely needed to replaced. These were a very nice upgraded replacement...

Good product
Yes, these are a little stiff from the shielding. But they seem like a well made product. Fit my yamaha RX-V1081 av receiver and yamaha CD player perfectly, the right amount of tension to the fit. It is important to route these carefully, to prevent excess stress on the connection, but it's probably the same with any shielded cable. As far as sound quality, my impression is it's perfect, no noise and a full and dynamic sound; perhaps I'm imagining it, but I felt my old cheapies had a little thinner and more treble forward sound. So yes, I'm happy with these.
