Very Helpful
This is the second stick I have. I use this stick everyday. It is very sturdy. It's the only way I can get my compression socks off as I have limited mobility of my hands. I also use it to dress and for quickly grabbing clothing just out of reach. The only negative is that I'd like the larger hook to be anchored better into the stick. After flexing the hook while using it numerous times, it eventually broke off. Wish they could come up with an even sturdier way to screw the hook into the wooden dowel. Maybe a wider screw part???

Great gift for post surgery patient
Ordered it for my SIL who just had shoulder surgery. She said it's been very helpful in getting dressed!

Marginal quality
The handle is wood - an unfinished dowel - and warped, in the case of the unit I received. The closet-hanger style hook end screws into the end of the dowel, and is made of a ~heavy gauge wire - coated with a rubberized substance - that nonetheless bends when used to remove compression stockings, etc. The wire will "work" in time, and snap off. It would be easy enough to make one with a length of dowel and closet hangers, with a loop hook at the other end for hanging. Both closet-hanger and loop hook end screw in through a plastic crutch tip style cover for the bare end of the dowel. I would think it would be much cheaper and easier to customize (thicker or longer dowel, etc.) if you were to make your own. Does it work? Mostly, although only for lighter duty.

Fantastic Tool!
This “dressing stick” is amazing! I had major low back surgery and I needed tools to help me be more self sufficient. This stick by far is my favorite implement. I use it to put on my underwear & pants, get clothes up off of the floor, & pick up bags containing bladder control pads from the floor. Due to my surgery, I can’t bend, twist, or lift anything above 5 pounds. This stick is an amazing tool that I recommend for anyone that has undergone surgery. It is made from great materials, and is made very well. It is constructed with one solid piece of wood, which makes for a very sturdy tool. The metal parts are covered with a rubbery type substance that protects your clothing from snags or damage. The overall texture & weight of the dressing stick are aesthetically pleasing in my hands.
