BBK 1780 78mm Throttle Intake - High Flow Power Plus Series for Ford Mustang GT 4.6L 2V - Charcoal Finish

I installed this BBK 1780 TB/Plenum on 2000 for Crown Victoria. Installation was direct and easy with few modification. I "T"ed one of the vacuum lines connections, because BBK 1780 is designed for Mustang which has 3 lines while Crown Victoria has 4 lines. And I drilled a hole by 1/8" bit on the throttle body butterfly to prevent Suction-Lock at take-off and sluggish operation in the low-end (check the photo) The result is a great power gain, excellent throttle response and a very smooth operation though out the entire power band. All that with a great price. For me, it is a must to do bolt-on. I had the following mods upon installation: *PI (heads, cams and intake) swap *Fordracing 24lb fuel injectors *Walbro 190LPH Fuel Pump *Stainless Works Long Tube Headers *04 P71 80mm MAF/Air-Box/Zip-Tube *Steeda Under Drive Pulleys

This has to be the best thing I've ever done to my 2002 Mustang GT. Recently I installed BBK under drive pulleys and a tune, but I wasn't greatly impressed with the gains for the $. I've wanted this throttle body for about two years so I figured I'd go ahead and pick it up. The install was simple as you'd imagine and the seat of your pants feel is amazing. I instantly noticed my pedal was firmer and had instant response. It really woke my car up and anything above 2800rpms is all gain. I read many people saying anything above a 65-70mm TB is a waste on a non forced induction, but this isn't true. Take a chance and pick one up today I promise it'll be the best thing you've ever done. Keep in mind that my mods (exhaust, CAI, pulleys, tune) probably allowed this TB to see its full potential. You'll need at least a 3 1/2 inch rubber coupler to attach your CAI and new throttle body or prepare to have a great time stretching a 3 inch to fit as I did. A 3 inch WILL work, but it's a royal pain to get on.

Love this thing! I have an 03 Mustang GT. I bought it from an older guy who was the original owner and always kept it in the garage. I saw an advert for this BBK 78mm throttle body while buying my Steeda short throw shifter. I read all the reviews good and bad. I was worried it’d be too much air into my mostly stock engine. All I’ve done to it was the shifter, lowered it, MagnaFlow catback exhaust and BBK cold air intake. The pics on Amazon still show the old style BBK machined engraving. They don’t come like that anymore. Some refer to the new emblem as a sticker but it’s more like printed into the metal rather than a sticker. Watch the video by Pony Parts before installing. It’ll tell you everything you need to know. The left throttle bracket hole isn’t as deep as the right. I used a polished spacer I had laying around to make up the difference. Remember to disconnect the battery before you start. And allow it to run a few minutes after starting it back up. I don’t know if it added any more HP but I can definitely feel the improvement in throttle response and the whistle it makes when you goose it is pretty cool! Oh. The bushing that the video tells you to install doesn’t come with it anymore. BBK changed the design to where you don’t need it. Just FYI.

Fits 97 thunderbird 4.6 with modifications. Including drilling and tapping a fitting for the brake vacuum source. Also fit with a npi and then also with the pi intake i later installed.

I work at a small used car lot and although I considered installing it myself, I had our tech do it. It was done in less than 1 hour. I have a 2000 Mustang GT convertible.that is slightly modified with a cold air intake, Flowmaster exhaust, and a performance tune via a Diablo tuner. I drove it home (about 30 miles) and where i could open it up I was very impressed with the additional power during acceleration. Also, I have not yet encountered any "check engine" lights. The Mustang is not my everyday car so I don't monitor the gas mileage and I tend to play more when I drive it. As they say "you play, you pay" All in all I feel this was a fairly inexpensive way to increase horsepower and performance.

BBK generally makes a superior mid-grade product, but what I received was far from it. The throttle body opening was almost oval instead of circular. So, make sure you check the plenum to ensure no quality and control issues exist before you install it.

I have a 2002 Mustang GT and this mod was a great buy! I have a Cold air intake to help it along but it is actually less than the 78mm TB so it help me keep the velocity thru the lower end demand. So I have been able to see performance across the board. The little shift whistle is pretty cool too. Installed in about an hour with simple tools and little know how. There is a vid on youtube showing exactly how to put it in should anyone get lost. Recommend all day long, great buy for the $$

Installed myself in about and hour !! Does not come wit lower gaskett and pretty hard to find unless u order whole kit and just use the one square small one ? Really dont wanna use liguid gaskett for this job either actualky i would never use that stuff !!! Does make a difference after installed !!! Even better hooked up to a k&n cool air filter system , or bbk !!! Speed on boys and girls !!! SPEED ON !!!!!!

Installed on my 96 mercury grand marquis, Had to T 1 vacuum line since my car had 4 and mustang has 3. Works great!
