I bought this for camping. I have quite a few coffee drippers: a Chemex, a glass V60, a ceramic V60, a stainless steel V60 with fine mesh (so you're not supposed to need a filter). They all work great except for that last one (which is horrible - it gets clogged after every use no matter the grind and no matter how well you clean it). But, all of those are too bulky for camping, so I wanted to try this one out. And I've got to say, it's perfect. It's light, it's compact, and it does the job well. I even use the same 02 V60 filters that I use for everything else. Also, I never brew just one cup at a time (my wife and I drink at least a cup and a half each), meaning when I make coffee with this thing I'm making a full pot. That's right, it can handle large batches so long as you are careful (it'll drip out the side a bit at first if you don't start slow. I know it's just a simply formed piece of stainless steel, but it's design is perfect and it's quality is good. And, it's become a huge improvement to our camping gear. Oh, and it doesn't slip off the jar, or mug, or whatever. I think that's due to the 3-leg support design, rather than only having two supports, like I've seen on other models (where there were complaints of it slipping off the cup).

This is the best basic pourover tool. It does exactly what you need to do. It's almost invisible in terms of weight.

I own a number of pour over brewers from Hario, Chemex, Clever, Kalita and Rok. This one is THE BEST because it makes the most consistent high quality brews. The fact that it has very little mass allows more heat to stay in the grounds rather than allowing heat to be constantly transferred to the body of the brewer. More consistent heat means a more consistent extraction. You could say the best brewer is no brewer. And this is as close to no brewer as you can get without a truly rube goldberg type of arrangement with lab equipment and bungee cords. Yes I'm that guy. The unit is high quality and imparts no flavor. It's very light and portable. It's easy to clean. And it reminds me of a slinky. :) You can use the smaller or larger Hario cone filters in it. The larger size, 02, may be a bit easier to finagle into position. Design-wise it's minimalist in a Marie Kondo fashion. Yes, this is the pour over brewer you are looking for.
