Could you set the button up to dial a contact?

I don't have a calling carrier set up on my Amazon account, but if you can create a routine in the Alexa app where you can call a contact then, yes, this button should be able to trigger the call routine. If you can get the routine working as you want by triggering from the app and/or an echo device then you could buy this button system to trigger your routine. It can be a little laggy in use though, no guarantees that it will immediately work 100% every time it is pressed.
