I got this for scraping some carbon build up off of the cast iron grate on my camp chef sear box. The tool worked okay for doing this job and seems like it will hold up just fine over time. The reason for the 3 stars, rather than 4 or 5, was because I found the part of the tool that is notched specifically for cleaning the grates has the notches too close together. I could not fit the tool in close enough for it to actually work for the purpose it was made without holding it at some very odd angles.The handle is also not very ergonomic, but that was not something I was expecting, just something worth noting. You will definitely find that wrapping the tool with a wad of paper towels will be helpful if the item you are scraping has anything that requires a little more elbow grease. Definitely plan on wearing some leather gloves to clean your grate, even if you are doing it in the kitchen sink.

This is a solid piece of brass with the grate grooves cut into it and it’s very well made. I thought I would have issues with it since the groves are very near each other but it works fine. That being said the only improvement that I feel would make this an absolute must have accessory is that it be longer. Ideally you’d want to scrape when the grill is somewhat low end hot and the shortness of it really what stops it from being 5 stars. Maybe a few inches longer would solve this. Other than that works grate ;)

Good product

Worked really great when in use. But my hand took a beating from the grill being hot when in use, needs to be longer or wear gloves. That's my only complaint.

Doesn't work as well as a brush, slower, but if you are afraid of getting stray wire bristles in your food, this will do the job. Only one or two notches are useful, and those are not in the middle, so a bit awkward to use.

I bought this because of have porcelain enameled grill grates and this thing works like a charm. I was worried it would take forever to clean one grate at a time but it's actually really fast and would recommend this to anyone. Unless your cooking surface is the size of a toddler bed, this doesn't take long at all to use to clean. One easy slide up the bar and onto the next. Should take about a 1-3 min for your avg grill since you're usually only cooking on 3/4th of the grill.
