Will it go through Jean material?

Yes, jean material is super good. It has a large learning curve to operate, Look at You Tube videos for some examples of what it will do. Not as easy as it looks

What stand do you recommend?

You would purchase a blank sewing table. Then take the machines measurements and cut it into the blank table. It takes some work and tools(router) .
